Regarding Flash #244, many thanks for the kind words.

I don't usually dip into the web for comments on my work, but I did this time and for heaven's sake, these are the best reviews I've had since B:TAS. Who woulda thunk it?

Anyway, if you like anything else in this issue or the next three, please mention my editors, Eddie Berganza and Rachel Gluckstern, who held my hand along the way, feeding me Wally's history, which is more complicated than the build-up to the Iraqi War.

Again thanks,

Ah... I'd forgotten about the Waid retcon/re-timing of the speed disease. I still remembered it as happening late in his Titans career. Thanks for the reminder!

I actually picked up this issue. Although the Incredi-flash family still annoys the heck out of me, I thought the story surrounding them was good. Burnett did a really good job. I'm not worried at all about Wally West and family and it's only natural for a good writer to pick up on the current mood of Wally West fans to add a little fear to drive the story. It's no secret that Barry Allen is returning and a smart writer will take that fact into consideration when doing a story like this. This book made me want to rejoin the current run and ride it to the end.

I agree with your review for the most part. However, I was quite annoyed with the thought balloons. There was more thought balloons in this story than actual dialogue, and the way in which they are written felt awkward to me.

I too am worried, like hell, about what they are going to do to Wally. They had better not ruin him, it feels like they will. He is this generation's Flash!
