Karl Kerschl’s art is waaay too cartoony for the Flash. I’d like to see Scott Kolins return. He complimented John’s stories really well.

Don’t know. Wasn’t a big fan of his LoSH work, but that may have been due to the small panels Shooter gave him to work with. I like his art on Adventure because it seems to match that sort of down to earth (so to speak) Smallville setting, but his work seems too cartoony at times for The Flash.

Of course, I said the same thing when Mike Wieringo started his run on Flash and grew to love his work, so who knows?

I wish Jesse the Original Trickster could be brought back. Though maybe he will be brought back in The Blackest Night Flash Tie-in.

Karl Kerschl would be my dream artist for Kid Flash. Something I know is never going to happen. I frequent his blog, and I read interviews with him, and I know he’s not interested in doing a super hero monthly. I would however, love to see the opening arc drawn by him.

Hmm, the only thing that jumps out at me is that he shaded the pants and shirt the same shade of gray. I guess I must have just chalked that up to being a black & white drawing, but he did darken the gloves.

Karl Kerschl would be a perfect fit for Bart — I’ve thought so ever since his one issue of Flash: The Fastest Man Alive — but I’m not sure he could hold a monthly schedule.

What might work is something that came up in a discussion at my local comic store a couple of weeks ago: instead of having a single artist do 12 issues a year, get two artists and have each do one 6-month arc. Maybe get the faster of the two to do the first arc and (if the writer is up to it, anyway) give the second artist some more lead time.

…well, that’s unlikely, but I’m hoping for someone with a more “toon” style.
