Flash in Newsarama’s Favorites of 2009

Category: Fun — Kelson @ 11:33 pm

Newsarama’s Favorites of 2009 reader polls are wrapping up their final rounds, with The Flash and its creative team making it to three of the finals.

Flash writer Geoff Johns handily won the favorite writer poll against Grant Morrison. Of course, it probably helped that in 2009 Geoff Johns has had bylines on Blackest Night, Green Lantern, Justice Society of America, Superman: Secret Origin, Flash: Rebirth, Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds and several other books, while Grant Morrison’s name appeared on…Batman and Robin.

The Flash has been defeated in other categories, however. Neither Flash: Rebirth artist Ethan Van Sciver nor upcoming Flash artist Francis Manapul made it to the final round of the Artist category, which went to Blackest Night artist Ivan Reis. The cover for Flash: Rebirth #1 made it to the finals, but J.H. WIlliams III’s cover for Detective Comics #855 took the title. Favorite Limited Series is technically still open, but at 92% to 8% it’s probably safe to call the contest for Blackest Night over Flash: Rebirth.

As a reminder, I’m running a poll on readers’ Favorite Flash story of 2009. If you haven’t already, please stop by and vote!
