Flash DC Direct Items In Stores This Month

Coming next week DC Direct’s vinyl designer action figure series, UNI-FORMZ will be releasing their fourth wave featuring The Fastest Man Alive. The Flash’s Classic Look featuring the iconic red and yellow costume with Barry’s straight across belt will be joined by two variants; Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne) and the Black Flash. These variants will be produced in far lower quantities than the classic Flash look:

UNI-FORMZ: THE FLASH ( CLASSIC ) Vinyl Figure

The Flash is the fourth character to join the stylized vinyl UNI-FORMZ line, inspired by the designer toy phenomenon!

These unique versions of The Flash and related characters are must-haves for both collectors of contemporary toy design and fans of the Scarlet Speedster.

Three characters from The Flash’s life are available: the classic version of The Flash, dressed in his traditional red uniform; the villain Zoom, dressed in his traditional yellow uniform; and Black Flash, dressed, of course, in a black uniform.

Don’t miss out! These toys are extremely limited and once they are sold out, DC Direct will not produce them again!

In keeping with the tradition of designer toys, rarity of certain incarnations are the norm. The Flash variants (Zoom and Black Flash) will be produced in far lower quantities.

These limited-edition vinyl UNI-FORMZ The Flash figures each feature 12 points of articulation, stand approximately 8″ tall and are packaged in a deluxe 4-color window box.

It’s too bad these guys are so freaking expensive, but that’s the thing about designer vinyl toys. I’m not going after them immediately but hopefully by the time I go to buy them I’ll still be able to find them. Unfortunately DC Direct means it when they say they aren’t producing more. So once they are gone, they are gone unless you find them in the after-market (eBay). Hopefully I can score a decent deal on a complete set while prices are still half-way reasonable. Or as reasonable as it can get to pay 160 dollars for a set of 3 action figures.

Whoa! I had *no idea* these were so expensive! I don’t think the original solicits even had a price, and the first place I looked just now wanted $50 for the Flash and $80 each for the variants!

Kelson, Midtowncomics(com) is selling the red one for $45. I’m sure other sellers have them discounted prices. Not my thing, but they do look better than Blammoids. *rolls eyes*.

Now me? I think Black Lantern Superman looks way cooler than regular Supes as does Blue Barry…but to each their own. 🙂

I am not interested in these at all.
I don’t really like the style and even if I did I am not prepared to spend $50 on an action figure.

The faces look a bit weird to me.

Scarlet Flash has Barry’s belt but Wally’s eye lenses and new nose guard? I suppose you could always redo the belt…though for those prices…. gah.

Honestly, I wouldn’t pay more than $5 a piece for them and that was if I had $15 with nothing else to buy in the foreseeable future. They look kind of ugly. Believe me, it takes a LOT for me to think of Wally or Barry as ugly.

Now, the Blue Lantern Barry and the upcoming Barry and Jay being issued later this year look very, very nice. I wouldn’t mind having those at all. Still waiting for a good version of Wally any of his uniforms. *sigh*

Isn’t that the one with the well proportioned anatomy but with clenched fists? Or is it the one with his legs farther apart and with karate chop hands?

I really liked the former, but not the hands since they made him look like he needed an anger management class. Another one had a smirk that really went well for Wally, but the figure was the steroids abuse type. Maybe that’s why the smirk…I dunno. The best arms were from the last one, but he looked like some Rogue had subjected him to The Rack and I don’t mean the comic book stand one.

Anyway, I’m still waiting. Patiently. Sort of. *muffled scream* What is WRONG with those sculptors?!

I like em. I’m mostly intrested in the Black Flash, because outside of a shirt, how often do you see Black Flash merch? The Eaglemoss Jay Garrick Lead Figure should be shipping some time this month too.

There is a very detailed (too detailed imo) Black Lantern Flash (deceased Professor Zoom) coming from DC Direct this fall. You may want to wait for that. Check it out first via a search engine or through the DC website.

Right. (Did a google on that and came up with some interesting nonsense mostly centering on avian themes. I’m going to have to resort to the Urban Dictionary to figure out ‘Eagleness’ aren’t I–because the ‘Jay’ reference caught my eye and now I need to know if this is in regards to Jay Garrick.) 😛

Do me a favor and ignore that last post. I’m past due for sleep by several hours and the above just proved it in spades. G’nite.
