Flash Movie Gets New Director

Deadline reports that Rick Famuyiwa has been chosen to direct the 2018 Flash movie. Recently known for directing (and writing) the Sundance film Dope, he takes over from former director Seth Grahame-Smith, who also wrote the film’s script. The movie stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, and will tie in with the other Justice League-related films.

What do you think of the new choice of director? Anyone seen Dope or any of Famuyiwa’s other films?

About Lia

Lia is a Canadian fan of the Flashes and the Rogues. She's particularly interested in memorabilia of the Rogues and Reverse Flashes, collecting art, and memorizing a whole lot of pointless trivia. She may be the world's only diehard fan of the Top due to a love of hopeless causes, and she runs a fan blog on Tumblr, known as gorogues or The Rogues Kick Ass.

I’m not familiar with his work, but it looks from his IMDB page like he’s known for character-based drama and comedy. That might be a good way to differentiate it from Snyder’s spectacle-focused style.

Then again, it seems like Warner Bros. changes directors on this film every few months, so I’m not getting too attached.
