Readers picked Flash Wally West over Morpheus the Sandman in round 1 of CSBG’s DC/Marvel favorite character tournament, and now he moves on to round 2, up against Magneto.
There’s only a couple of hours left in round 1 of the Westchester division of CSBG’s DC/Marvel tourney. Wally West faces off against the Sandman.
Over in the Smallville division, Barry Allen lost to Martian Manhunter, so this is the last chance for a Flash to advance to round 2.
Comics Should Be Good’s DC/Marvel favorite character tournament continues. The Flash (Wally West) faces off against the Sandman (Morpheus) in Westchester Division Round 1.
There are a few hours left to vote in Smallville Round 1, in which Flash (Barry Allen) is pitted against the Martian Manhunter.
Comics Should Be Good is running a Comic Book March Madness tournament, starting with 64 characters in four divisions. Two Flashes appear on the list: Barry Allen in the Smallville division and Wally West in the Westchester division.
Voting is open in Smallville Round 1, pitting Barry Allen against the Martian Manhunter.

On sale AUGUST 29 • 640 pg, FC, $75.00 US
As predicted, it ships the final week in August and wraps up the entire Geoff Johns run on the Wally West Flash series. One question is answered: it does include both halves of that Flash/Wonder Woman/Villains United crossover. Another remains: What about The Flash #1/2, the short story leading into Rogue War that provided a little depth to the second Trickster?
Volume 2 runs through Flash #200 and collects what I think is the best of Geoff Johns’ run on the character. Volume 3 collects Ignition and runs through the Identity Crisis-to-Infinite Crisis era, finishing with Rogue War.
I still think we’re likely to get a fourth volume next year that collects Johns’ Barry Allen run, starting with Flash: Rebirth and running at least through The Road to Flashpoint, if not all the way through Flashpoint itself, though I imagine DC would like to put that off a while to give the current collections a bit more shelf life. Flashpoint only came out in paperback last week, after all.

The upcoming Young Justice episode “Coldhearted” looks to be adapted from or inspired by Wally West’s first solo Flash issue. It features Wally West’s birthday, a cross-country run to deliver a heart for a transplant, and Vandal Savage.
Wally West comes oh-so-close to fulfilling his birthday wish to finally fight alongside the Justice League. Instead, a massively disappointed Kid Flash is taken off the mission and tasked with a simple delivery job. But a few deadly surprises await the birthday boy along the way….
Comic Book Resources has two clips and some stills from the episode. (Thanks to @CraigRMacDonald for the tip!)

A local coffee place has set up this pair of tip jars labeled with the Flash and Green Lantern. They said that Green Lantern had been winning all week, so I put some extra in the Flash jar.
While I was there, the baristas were discussing who to put up next: Wonder Woman vs. Catwoman, or Batwoman vs. Supergirl.
Earlier this morning, video game publisher, Little Orbit, announced that they have just inked a licensing deal with Warner Bros. to bring Young Justice: Legacy to the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS early next year.
Hey Speed Readers,
Beginning today, February 20th, 2012, participating Sonic Restaurants nationwide will begin offering Justice League Tots along with their Wacky Pack Kid’s Meals. The website specifically states that the Justice League Tots are only available with the purchase of a kid’s meal, but I went to McDonald’s a few times when they were running the Young Justice promotion and just purchased them straight up without buying the kid’s meal. So that may be a possibility.
Bleeding Cool has just posted a report from this weekend’s Megacon in Orlando, Florida. Within, there appears to be the first acknowledgement of a possible return of Wally West in the New 52 DCU:
That led us to a young man that asked about Wally West…[DC's Dan Didio and Eddie Berganza] said because there were de-aging Barry, they didnt want him to be the same age as Wally. Plus they didnt want to take away Wally’s kids and family or make him a teenager again, especially with Bart already in that role…Their answer was that they are simply focusing on establishing the characters they started out with in this new 52, but not saying those other characters don’t exist or aren’t around in some way. They understand that everyone’s character is someone’s favorite. They just ask us Wally and Donna [Troy] fans to be a bit more patient with them and those characters will be seen once more.
Haven’t seen this corroborated elsewhere as of yet, but it is still early in the day. Watch this space for more!
