Rumor: Flash/Green Lantern Movie in the Works

Flash and Green Lantern

Take this with a huge grain of salt: Hollywood columnist Nikki Finke reports on a slew of DC movies expected to be announced at Comic-Con next month to follow up on Batman vs. Superman, including a Justice League movie, a Wonder Woman solo film, and a Flash/Green Lantern (not Ryan Reynolds) team-up in 2017. (via The Beat)

Keep in mind that Warner Bros. was expected to announce a Flash movie last year, which didn’t happen, though a few weeks later they announced the TV series. And of course even if a movie really is in the works, there’s no guarantee it will actually get made, as a Flash movie has spent a full decade in development hell since being announced back in 2004.

It’s still not clear whether DC’s Man of Steel spinoffs will be taking place in the same universe as Arrow and The Flash, but wouldn’t it be cool for a Flash/Green Lantern team-up film to hit during the mid-season hiatus of Flash season three?

John stewart or Hal Jordan? I bet they introduce all of the or atleast a few of the green latern “family” over the course of several DC universe movies. I see this week john Stewart is doing a pretty bang up job in the comics this week. I prefer Jordan but let’s just let Ryan Reynolds go, but Stewart is great too. I prefer a flash solo movie but I’ll take it. Again with that huge grain of salt mentioned before.

One more thing…2017?!?!…. K here’s what I propose… Flash tv show is successful and thus allowing Barry Allen (Gus) to go back to 2013 and make warner bros make a 2015 release date. Then returning to the current fixed timeline and telling a season (or mid season) worth of a story explaining how he managed to make the release date for the movie from 2017 to 2015. Casting TBD

Each day that passes, I believe they should integrate the TV and the movie universes. Stephen Amell has owned the right to play Green Arrow in the big screen and I believe Grant Gustin will do the same for the Flash.

I believe WB is waiting to see the reaction to the Flash TV series in order to move forward with their projects on whether to make it separate or not from the movie U.

–Except for the fact that Stephen Amell is really playing a hybrid of Batman and Green Arrow on Arrow. Not Green Arrow. The tv producers wanted to introduce a Bruce Wayne/Batman show far as back Smallville, but couldn’t get permission to due to the film franchise reboot. So they went for the next non super powered billionaire they had on hand and went with Oliver Queen/GA. If a JL film were to go ahead there would be no need for someone like Amell’s Green Arrow, especially with Batman in the mix. Also I don’t see the need for Green Arrow in a JL film especially when there are more interesting DC superheroes to be used ie. Aquaman. Martian Manhunter, Shazaam etc. He would just look like a clone of the Avengers’ Hawkeye. The best use of Green Arrow for a JL film would be to use him the same way that he is used in his current book or the way that Johns introduced him in the JL Nu52. As a young 20 something kid who wants to make a difference and make up for his mistakes.

“He would look like a clone of the avengers hawkeye”. That’s shame since hawkeye is a rip off of green arrow not the other way around. ::angry fist in the air::
