Did you notice this pic on his web site. Lower left looks like a different Kid Flash costume?
[Edited for link formatting]
Bottom left, under the regular Kid Flash costume? I’m pretty sure that’s Lightning Lad.
No, I was thinking of the one above. thought it looked a little different than normal. just grasping at straws for clues to upcoming costume designs.
Hmm, the only thing that jumps out at me is that he shaded the pants and shirt the same shade of gray. I guess I must have just chalked that up to being a black & white drawing, but he did darken the gloves.
Two things, one I have to wonder which rogues will die, hopefully none of the favorites, but the new Trickster dieing would be fine with me. Gorilla Grodd dieing would never be final, so I won’t waste a breath on that. Second, I hope they have a inker or Manapul is faster than he was on Legion.
I’m not sure I’d count on any of the Rogues’ deaths to be permanent, but I guess we’ll see what the new rules for death are post-Blackest Night.
Right there with you on Trickster, Jr. Not as annoying as Superboy Prime, at least.
Heh, I know a whole bunch of people who’d celebrate if Axel died. Poor kid.
I think it’s just that the character is designed to be annoying…and succeeds.
I wish Jesse the Original Trickster could be brought back. Though maybe he will be brought back in The Blackest Night Flash Tie-in.
I absolutely love Manapul’s work on the new Adventure comics. Hate to see him leave Adventure comics but I am very excited he will be joining Johns on the new Flash ongoing series.

This is wonderful news indeed for Flash fans…
Woot, that’s awesome! And Francis is a hometown boy (Toronto), so good for him.
I love Francis Manapul’s work and am very excited to see him as the new artist on the Flash. I know he will be able to bring a sense of speed to the page that is really going to make the book special.
Now, lets just find out who that Kid Flash artist is…
Please be Karl Kerschl, Please be Karl Kerschl…
…well, that’s unlikely, but I’m hoping for someone with a more “toon” style.
Karl Kerschl would be a perfect fit for Bart — I’ve thought so ever since his one issue of Flash: The Fastest Man Alive — but I’m not sure he could hold a monthly schedule.
What might work is something that came up in a discussion at my local comic store a couple of weeks ago: instead of having a single artist do 12 issues a year, get two artists and have each do one 6-month arc. Maybe get the faster of the two to do the first arc and (if the writer is up to it, anyway) give the second artist some more lead time.
Karl Kerschl would be my dream artist for Kid Flash. Something I know is never going to happen. I frequent his blog, and I read interviews with him, and I know he’s not interested in doing a super hero monthly. I would however, love to see the opening arc drawn by him.
Karl would be a great choice.
Karl Kerschl’s art is waaay too cartoony for the Flash. I’d like to see Scott Kolins return. He complimented John’s stories really well.
Part of me wishes he could just be on both books…
Don’t know. Wasn’t a big fan of his LoSH work, but that may have been due to the small panels Shooter gave him to work with. I like his art on Adventure because it seems to match that sort of down to earth (so to speak) Smallville setting, but his work seems too cartoony at times for The Flash.
Of course, I said the same thing when Mike Wieringo started his run on Flash and grew to love his work, so who knows?
