IGN has posted the trailer for the next upcoming DC Animation film, Justice League: War. Based on Geoff Johns’ and Jim Lee’s first Justice League storyline in the New 52, the film is the first animation feature to be set in the New 52 universe. The Flash appears in the trailer, but takes something of a back seat to some of the other Justice League members.

What do you think? Are you interested in watching the film?
@SpeedForceOrg Saw it. Pissed they dumped Aquaman for Shazam.
“-something of a back seat..”
DC might just as well rename every film that comes out, “Batman’s Justice League in-” (fill in the blank)
DC is so stupid for downplaying every character they have for the sake of Guano.
DC needs to showcase more heroes besides Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. I miss Martian Manhunter and Aquaman being in the League. Flash and Green Lantern should have more prominent roles too.
Being a SH comic book fan of course I will watch it. But from what I’ve seen, it looks pretty formulaic. I doubt that we’ll be seeing much insight into each hero (although there wasn’t that much in the comic either). The film will probably consist of a bunch of smack downs between the League and their foes interspersed with witty dialogue.
Even Wonder Woman needs more showcasing. It’s very much a Superman/Batman company these days, and someone at WB recently remarked that they expect the next Wonder Woman animated film (when it happens) will be released under the Justice League banner, not as a Wonder Woman title.
In fairness, Batman and Superman (or the Justice League) has been the only thing that has really done well with these animated features. I can see why WB Animation would stick with the big two and/or give things a JL banner (like what was done with Flashpoint) even more so in light of ever-dwindling DVD sales (people are just not buying movies anymore). These Direct-to-DVD are going to need to be sure-fire things in order for them to be profitable and to continue the line.
That worries me as I’m not a fan of ‘cloud’ storage for anything. If physical movies are not selling as much, how much longer before stores stop selling disk players and only DVR’s?
(Should my power goes out again, I just pop a disk into my portable player and make sure extra batteries are on hand.)
For that matter, how much longer until brick & mortar stores are gone? THAT thought really scares me! Seeing (and feeling) before buying (and having to ship back for some reason) is much better imho then relying solely on people you never see other than maybe in a website picture.
At any rate the reason I’m not buying DC DVDs is because I either don’t like the plot or it’s too dark/graphically violent.
A lot of the reason behind the lower DVD sales has to do with the downturn of the economy over the last few years and people’s adjustment to it. In that way, it is somewhat outside the hands of WB.
But, yeah. “The Cloud” is an absolutely ridiculous concept. I can understand and get behind digital downloads (then it is at least on your drive/player/whatever. But have it being stored in some…place “out there” where you do not have full control over it is utter nonsense when it comes to owning entertainment media. I hate how it is somewhat being forced on consumers.
That said, while it might go away eventually, I do feel that physical media will still be around for a while.
Man superman sounded and acted like such a jerk bag in that trailer.
Strange how Wonder Woman and GL got costume redesigns… I wonder why
GL’s shots went by so fast I didn’t really catch his, but why in the world did they decide to give Wonder Woman an undershirt?
0.o*
Does she have a chest cold? Planning to go hit swimming pool after the battle? What?
His were minor. Glowing designs on his shoulders and (strangely) his hips
Yeah the shirt thing on her bothers me just because the blue doesn’t really fit to me and I don’t like it being cut in half by the metal chest piece
