Flashes in the Top 11?

Comics Should Be Good is down to #12 in their Top 50 DC Characters Countdown, and there’s no sign yet of Barry Allen or Wally West. I can definitely see Barry climbing the charts in the last few years (he was still dead during the last poll, after all), and while I can see Wally falling a bit, I can’t imagine him falling so far that he’d miss the top 50 entirely — especially with Jay Garrick and Bart Allen in the running at #45 and #36.

So, what do you think? Is there room for two Flashes in the Top 11 most popular DC characters? Which Flash will come out ahead, and by how much?

This is utterly nerve wracking! I can only hope the outcome for Wally fans is a lot better than when DC was doing their list of 52 books to make the DCnU.

Personally, I’ll be happy even if Wally is not #1 if *every single top character from 10 on down is a character that DC dropped!* If that happened, I’d be laughing my @ss off.

As it is…have a feeling Thomas Wayne will be #1.

Barry’s going to make it for sure. DC has done such a great job bringing Barry back to prominence. He’s one of the best characters they’ve got. It’s hard to imagine Wally not making the list, too, but he’s been out of sight for a while now.

Still a lot of names that haven’t popped on the list yet: Superman, Batman, Joker, Wonder Woman, Dick Grayson, Oracle, Hal Jordan, Green Arrow, Tim Drake, or Cassandra Cain.

I’d be utterly surprised if Barry doesn’t make it seeing as how Editorial has done everything short of sending out door-to-door singing telegrams with guys dressed as Barry.

Of course if he *doesn’t* show up on the list….I’m not answering my doorbell next year unless it’s to harangue the guy…”You left your wife and nephew behind in the other universe, you cad!” ;P

Hmmmm… curious about the top ten now. My guess is that Barry will be around 9 or 10 with Wally in the top three for sure. Even over Dick and Wonder Woman. There has been way too much fuss all around the Internet in regards to the dismissal of Wally for him to not be remembered. Though if he doesn’t show up I also wouldn’t be surprised. My guess is that the top ten will be something like this.

    10. Green Lantern Hal
    9. Flash — Barry Allen
    8. Wonder Woman
    7. Joker
    6. Green Arrow
    5. Robin — Tim Drake
    4. Dick Grayson Nightwing/Batman
    3. Flash — Wally West
    2. Superman
    1. Batman — Bruce Wayne

Although, now that I look at my list and who I have on top, I could almost see Dick Grayson — Batman coming out ahead of Bruce Wayne — Batman. And of course the greatest Batman ever… Thomas Wayne is a wild card.

I’m guessing they both finish somewhere between 4 and 8. Barry rose up a lot from last time, assuming he’s on the list (sure as hell didn’t make my ballot) and I’m hoping Wally hasn’t fallen far from third.
