- Preview of THE SHADE #1. (If this takes place in the “main” DC universe, then his history with Jay Garrick has probably been erased. On the other hand, it would make a lot of sense to set it on Earth-2, where Robinson’s JSA book is supposed to take place, given the Shade’s ties to the Golden Age, both directly and through the Jack Knight Starman series.)
I’m still raising funds for food allergy research and education. Thanks once again to those who have donated. If you haven’t read that post, please look through it to see why I’m walking, and consider sponsoring me in the Walk for Food Allergy. Thank you!
Liked Brett’s work…eh on the rest.
So wanted to love The Shade based on the cover artwork, but viewing the scans saw that the inside art was imho overly plain. Very disappointed. So far only JLI and Flash look interesting enough to go back for once/if they bring Wally back in some way. Maybe JL *if* the second one is loads better. I really dislike my old faves being portrayed as jerks and…well…something less than heroic with as yet little in redeeming qualities. It’s the reason I’m still on the fence regarding the Wally West of DCAU Young Justice. (That ice cream scene really ticked me off.)
Here’s another Flash-related link: Grey Scherl at Comics Nexus lists The Flash #1 as his top surprise book of the DC relaunch:
