This Week: Flash Season Zero #4

The print edition is out in stores today:

In the stunning conclusion of our first story arc, The Flash squares off against thousands of Central City citizens under the control of the dastardly Mr. Bliss! Can the S.T.A.R. Labs crew help Barry end Bliss’s reign of terror before it’s too late?

Written by: Katherine Walczak, Brooke Eikmeier, Andrew Kreisberg. Art by Eric Gapstur, Phil Hester.

Update: I forgot to mention that DC is continuing to release 3 new Silver Age Flash issues to the digital backlist each week. Flash #124, 126 and 127 (#125, “Conquerors of Time,” was already available) include such classics as the “Space-Boomerang Trap,” “Doom of the Mirror-Flash,” and “Reign of the Super-Gorilla.”

I am reading Season Zero because..well…its Flash, but not a huge fan? What does everyone else think? Wondering whether this series is pull list worthy…hmmmm

This first arc hasn’t exactly thrilled me. I’ll keep getting the series because it’s Flash, but if the arcs don’t start getting better I may drop it.

It’s okay. Ironically, I’m enjoying the book more more than the main book. I also like the writing better than the tv show. Barry’s more confident and less neurotic than the character on the tv. The art work isn’t that hot, but it’s enjoyable.

Really didn’t like it an dropped it half-way through the first arc. It didn’t have the magic of the show. Forgettable plot and cheesy dialogue.

And what magic does the show have? With the exception of Wells. It’s just formulaic CW teen/ 20 something angst.

You may not like it, but millions of others do. I love the goofy fun and super heroics of it. I like the actors. I care about what happens to most all of the main characters. Almost every episode makes me want to pump my fist. This and Arrow are the only shows that I take the time to watch. So I’d say it has some magic for me.

When you said that it was ‘magic’ I expected that there was something unique and special about the show. And I was wondering what it was. And I just find it to be formulaic with the same thing happening virtually every week, and the acting is awful.
