Let’s start off with a fairly decent still image of Jay Garrick, courtesy of actor Teddy Sears’ Instagram account.
Behind the cut you’ll find the official synopsis for the third episode of the season, titled “Family Of Rogues”. It contains a fairly significant plot spoiler, so decide for yourself if you actually want to read it or be surprised.
MICHAEL IRONSIDE GUEST STARS AS LEWIS SNART — When Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team find out Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) has been kidnapped, they form an uneasy alliance with his sister, Lisa (guest star Peyton List). However, Barry feels double-crossed when he finds out Snart is working with his father, Lewis Snart (guest star Michael Ironside) on a heist. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is faced with a difficult decision. John Showalter directed the episode written by Julian Meiojas & Katherine Walczak (#203). Original airdate 10/20/2015.
I’m personally looking forward to the episode, though I actually would have preferred not to know about the plot twist weeks in advance. Still, I’m keen to see more development with the Snarts, particularly Lisa.
What do you think of Jay’s costume, and are you looking forward to this episode? Let us know your thoughts.
I love Jay’s costume, it’s both classic and modern (as opposed to his New 52 costume, which is… well, maybe “postmodern”). I’m looking forward to the episode, because, hey, it’s the Flash. The synopsis could be: “Barry heats up some soup for an early dinner and then goes to bed.” And I’d still look forward to it. Although I always love a good Cisco/Lisa scene.
Love the suit (makes me think Smallville comic book Jay) although still think just an outline of the lightning bolt is too understated.
He’s coming on the third episode? I’ll have to try to catch that one. Please, please, please let them get Jay right! Or right enough where I’m not inwardly thinking “Who is this speedster who is wearing Jay’s hat?” instead of “Jay Garrick! That’s Jay!” even while enjoying the show.
Jay will definitely be in the second episode, and I don’t know if he’ll be appearing in the first (he’s credited in the first at IMDB, but that isn’t necessarily accurate). The second episode is titled “Flash of Two Worlds”, which does suggest a lot of Jay content.
There’s some nicer pictures of Jays costume on Comicvine, along with Barry’s modified suit and Patty:

But man, I like his new look, It’s like old school Jay fused with the Rocketeer in terms of style. Classic looking. 🙂
But am I the only one who wants Cisco to hook up with Lisa? I mean come on, she teases him so bad, I think he’s earned a little somethin somethin, if you know what I’m sayin.
😀
Oh yes, thank you — I’ve actually been preparing a post with those images but have been getting sidetracked for hours. I should have a post up within half an hour about it!
I like his look too, and am glad they went with something inspired by the old school comics. It’s great that they aren’t acting embarrassed by it.
Man! U thought i was on pins and needles waiting for LAST YEARS Flash premier!!!! Ikinda feel bad for Cisco though…I mean, most of this years Metas will probably come from Earth 2-? with all their own “stage-names” already selected which mean Cisco won’t get to name anyone until Mirror Master shows up (MAYBE Abra Kadabra (Andx GAWD! i want to see A.K.!!!!)
I am *so* looking forward to seeing Jay on this show.
And the Snart family dynamics should be fun.
Yeah, I’m really looking forward to both. So suprised that we’re seeing Dad Snart already, I wouldn’t have expected it until later seasons.
They really haven’t been holding back. It’s not what I’m used to seeing from Warner Bros., where the general rule seems to be “dip a toe in the pool and wait a year to see if anyone’s interested, then dip another toe, and if people still want it, maybe we could try swimming.”
