Flash: Rebirth #1 Preview

5242387-flsreb_cv1_ds Comic Vine has the official preview for the first issue of Flash: Rebirth. As a reminder, there’s a warning to read last week’s DC: Rebirth before reading this one, as events from the other issue are definitely shown in this preview. Spoilers behind the jump.

As you can see here, the issue builds off New 52 continuity (the Pied Piper’s still dating Captain Singh), but there are glimpses of the pre-Flashpoint world. Aside from Wally himself, Barry sees a vision of himself breaking Professor Zoom’s neck while shouting “Not again!”. And he also sees a glimpse of Godspeed, the speedster villain we’ll soon be introduced to. So it’ll be interesting how this story and others going forward will weave these events and continuities together.

What’d you think? Are you looking forward to the issue and upcoming Flash book, or still taking a wait and see attitude? Feel free to share your thoughts!

About Lia

Lia is a Canadian fan of the Flashes and the Rogues. She's particularly interested in memorabilia of the Rogues and Reverse Flashes, collecting art, and memorizing a whole lot of pointless trivia. She may be the world's only diehard fan of the Top due to a love of hopeless causes, and she runs a fan blog on Tumblr, known as gorogues or The Rogues Kick Ass.

Didn’t read any of the text in the preview because I like waiting until I have the issue in hand, but the art is a MASSIVE improvement over the previous Booth stuff. This is much more to my liking, and I will be jumping back on board the title as a regular reader.

Definitely stoked for this new, brighter DC.

Not a bad opening scene for this run.

The Reverse-Flash neck snap was the most exciting part for me. Could have plenty of implications for how things will play out continuity-wise over the next couple years.

I like his voice for Barry so far. Good start.

For the first time in YEARS I’m excited to read this book again.
I’ll also be picking up Titans for my Wally fix!
