New Impulse Art From Young Justice

DC still hasn’t told us much about the upcoming Young Justice title for DC’s new ‘Wonder Comics’ imprint, but they’ve released some neat new art of Bart Allen and his teammates. The series will be written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Patrick Gleason, and will debut in January 2019.

I’m glad to see Bart looking happy and carefree again. What do you guys think of the promo art and costume designs?

Bart and Tim look Great. i’m not sold on Superboy’s look just yet. Maybe because i’m so used to his later Jeans and Black-t-shirt look. On the other Hand this clearly seems to be an homage to the original Young Justice Comic of the 90s. (That I just started reading again from the beginning!)

It really is interesting that DC is hewing so closely to their classic looks — and welcome, as far as I’m concerned, because I never felt comfortable with the way the company seemed ashamed of that stuff for a while. Personally I’m happy.

I think some changes can be good. I thought they found the perfect modern Superman suit in Reborn and screwed the pooch because of nostalgia and put him back in his undies which should have stayed dead along with Batman’s undies. In Flash’s case I would love for Barry’s original suit to come back in Wally’s it’s either his maroon pre Flashpoint or Rebirth one for me. It needs to be different, he is a Flash he should be different from Barry and not near impossible to tell the difference for casuals. Just my thoughts.
