This Barry Allen comes more across like a male version of Felicty. Your prototypical awkward nerd lacking in confidence. I understand that this isn’t our traditional Barry Allen. But still I find his behaviour uncomfortable to watch. Was Wally & Bart this neurotic?
I think neurotic is the new normal anyway. 🙂
Watched the clips and can’t get around a) looks young enough to be a sophmore in high school and b) looks more like a ‘Bart’ Allen than a Barry. Seeing as I’m not already an Arrow fan anyway, probably am going to opt to sleep as tomorrow is a work day. Likely that any interesting scenes will make their way to YT and similar sites within the next week.
no. impulsive (due to the super speed) but never awkwardly twitchy
to my knowledge at least, I’ve read nearly all issues of Impulse (in one sitting) but can’t say the same for mark waid’s(or anyone else’s) run on wally flash
I think this is just what a young version of the speedster scientist would act like
only problem is a young Barry Allen acts alot like young (post-ditko) Peter Parker who has BROWN hair
I would expect a young Barry Allen to be too serious and too focused on getting the job done right (and likely to unitentionally step on some toes). But I in no way would expect him to be this nervous and uptight. It denotes a lack of self confidence and a tendency to self-absorption. Something that the traditional Barry Allen did not exibit. I’m also reading two trades with Bart as Flash. And while Bart does come across as your 20 somthing kid feeling his way through life. He still shows more confidence and stability.
I am guessing that the producers decided that they were going to rip Peter Parker’s personality and insert it into the Flash story, in order to get more viewers. Or because they just haven’t bothered to research The Flash based characters. Which I really think that it is a shame. Because I believe that all three men Barry/Wally/Bart are great characters in their own right. I will probably check out the first pilot (if it gets aired). But if I don’t like what I see I won’t continue watching.
