Looks like they are going with Geoff Johns’ Flashpoint return of Barry’s powers rather than Wally West’s return of powers.
It’s Understandable though when you consider that Wally’s repowering was before Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn Came up with “The Speed Force”. So every time someone had to come by Flash’s powers it HAD to be as a result of an electro-chemical bath.
Whereas, since the Speed Force is recognized as being the source of a “true” speedster’s powers on the show, the best way to reconnect someone to the Speed Force is with an Electrical Charge of considerable Power. Also, If this plan of unleashing another Particle accelerator explosion/Dark Matter wave works…well, Wally was last seen in Barry’s Lab….Deja Vu anyone?
