DC has posted their full complement of solicitations for April 2021, and here are all the ones relating to the Flash. That month sees the second issue of Jeremy Adams’ new run on the solo book, as well as some good classic Flash stories reprinted in collected editions. There haven’t been nearly enough Bronze Age Flash issues collected thus far, so “The Death of Iris West” HC is a welcome addition.
You can see the solicits in their entirety at CBR.

Luckily, Bart has a mentor named Max Mercury, and if anyone’s up to the task, it’s the zen master of the Speed Force. In this collection, Bart adjusts to life in the 20th century, keeping the town of Manchester, Alabama, safe from threats like White Lightning and Gridlock. Having Wally on the Flash book and Barry on the JL is one of the best things I’ve heard in a while. Ever since 2010 I’ve wanted something like this. Idm who’s on which I’m just happy they are finally appealing to everyone now (I do prefer Wally on flash book tho because I love the flash legacy)
Also does this mean they are going to start collecting Impulse in tpbs?
I’m certainly hoping we’re entering a new era of respecting all the members of the Flash Family…fingers crossed.
Kind of wondering why DC has chosen now to reprint the Impulse and Death of Iris trades. Glad for them, but wondering if there’s any significance to the timing. But hopefully there’ll be more Impulse trades!
Death of Iris!
I thought DC Comics treated all the stories of Cary Bates as missing. Honestly, I don’t know if DC Comics published any of the Cary Bates comics…
I think the comics of Cary Bates are divided into Death of Iris. Recently, I read CARY’s interview through a book called “THE FLASH COMPANION”. It was very interesting. I want DC Comics to publish stories before Death of Iris, but I don’t think it would be easy to expect DC Comics to publish Flash Bronze Age Omnibus. I hope DC Comics will publish it under the name Flash’s Rogues Gallery Omnibus like Joker Bronze Age Omnibus. I have all the issue that Rogues appears in, but I want to read them as a new book.
IMPULSE said it would be published omnibus, but it is too embarrassing to cancel the publication of omnibus and publish it tpb.
Recently, Dan Didio’s attempt to make Wally West a Parallax was so disgusting and death metal was so boring that I haven’t watched comics since Flash 762.I hope DC Comics will respect all characters from now on.
DC did collect the ‘Trial of the Flash’ arc in a TPB, but otherwise I can’t think of any Bates Flash collections. It’s a weird oversight (possibly a deliberate one) that’ll hopefully be rectified in the near future. I’ve got nothing but love for Silver Age Flash comics, but we’ve seen the same issues reprinted repeatedly while another significant era goes mostly uncollected!
A Rogues omnibus would be amazing, though I’m not sure they have sufficient name recognition value like the Joker does. But it’d be fantastic to see DC branch out into lesser-used properties instead of promoting the same characters/stories over and over.
Everything about Wally over the past 10+ years has been a mess. I hope DC’s on the road to fixing that, while not marginalizing the other members of the Flash Family….all that does is pit fans against each other, and it’s really got to stop.
