“Bad Moon Rising” Part Six – Review of THE FLASH #24

Eclipso is more powerful than at any time in his history. Nothing the Flash family has been able to throw his way has stopped him. An army of Wallys has done nothing but feed cannon fodder to Eclipso. Is there anything that can stop him? Wally is finally beginning to realize what he needs to do, but is it too late? Wanna know more? Follow us after the jump!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Wally and Jai believe they have found the approach. Eclipso is essentially lashing out because he can no longer get the recognition he craves so much from Darkseid. Free him from that pain, and he may give up this war. Sounds good, right?

It seems to work. For a moment, at least. But, turns out that was the worst possible solution they could have tried.

Changing how he feels about everything finally allows Eclipso to access the power of that baby Speed Force named Foxy. Time is definitely running out now, and mere moments separate our speedsters from the absolute devastation of the Earth!

That’s basically where we are by issue’s end – and whether anything can be turned around will have to be left to (hopefully) next issue.

NOTES:

  • This volume of THE FLASH has changed Wally’s powers to fit the “cosmic horror” motif, made him a weary and single-minded warrior who no longer cares about dying, and now tells us the “power of love” is the worst possible solution to the problem. There is some merit to this type of story – and if this were originally a horror comic, I would likely love this title. I’m just having trouble with this being a story about The Flash.
  • The artwork is good – and the way they have torn Wally’s uni to give some resemblance to his Kid Flash days is truly fun to read.

SUMMARY:

Judging this is purely a horror comic and not a FLASH comic, I’d give it an 8 or 9. Reviewing this as a FLASH comic, I can only give it a 7. Of course, that’s just my opinion. What do YOU think? Leave your comments below!
