Where were we? Oh, yes! Hunter Zolomon was getting ready to end Wally’s life! In the Absolute Universe, Zolomon can see just far enough into the future to know every move Wally is about to make. Wally can’t get a break, and things are looking bleak for him. That’s just part of what’s going on in this issue – and something you may have taken for a fact before may turn out to be…well, wanna know more? Follow us after the jump!
SPOILERS AHEAD!
Let’s skip ahead in the story to Linda, Grodd, and the horrific visions out on the streets. It’s Abra Kadabra (or rather the Absolute version), and he has been playing everyone with these visions. It’s the most fun he’s had since going up against the Absolute Universe version of Zatara. But, Grodd sees through all of it. Grodd helps linda see the truth, that there are NO weird transformations, just fake visions spread by Kadabra. Linda stops him easily once the truth is out. They go to see Wally, and that’s where we go to the big fight of the issue.
Zolomon has beaten Wally to a pulp. He’s not thrilled with the idea of killing Wally, but Eleanore Thawne is forcing the issue. As Linda and Grodd arrive, Grodd gives Wally a moment’s relief by blocking Zolomon’s visions of the future. It’s just a temporary relief, however.
The real save comes from the Absolute version of none other than Ray Palmer! We’ll see a lot more from this version of the Atom next issue, and that’s where we drop for this month’s installment.
NOTE:
- The darkness of the Absolute Universe is a big part of this story. The hopelessness that Wally feels for much of the issue is heart-wrenching. Even the turns for the better don’t fully turn things around. The strength to continue even in a seemingly hopeless situations makes this story even more powerful.

SUMMARY:
This is another great issue in what continues to be a fantastic series. I’ll give this one an 8.5 out of 10. Of course, that’s just my opinion. What do YOU think? Leave your comments below!
