Flash TV Roundup

This week’s episode of The Flash is titled “Dead Or Alive”, and you can see more official image stills from it at Flash TV News.

Plus, here’s the synopsis for next week’s episode, titled “Untouchable”. The episode will feature an old comics villain I never expected to see in the series!

The Flash 3×12 “Untouchable”
THE TOUCH OF DEATH – Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work together to bring down Clive Yorkin (guest star Matthew Kevin Anderson), a criminal meta-human who is methodically killing people by causing them to decompose at an accelerated rate. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) becomes his next target but it’s Iris (Candice Patton) who is caught in the crossfire. The Flash mentors Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and begins to elevate the newer speedster’s training to another level. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Brooke Roberts and Judalina Neira.

And finally, a couple of links about the upcoming musical crossover between The Flash and Supergirl. TV Guide tells us a bit about who will sing in the episode (mostly people from the aforementioned two series, but also includes Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow‘s John Barrowman and LoT‘s Victor Garber), and the air date. It will begin on Supergirl on March 20th, and conclude on The Flash on March 21st.

The Music Meister has been cast for the crossover; he will be played by Glee actor Darren Criss, who appeared on the series with Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist. I was hoping Neil Patrick Harris would reprise the role, but he may have been too busy with a different ongoing series.

Looking forward to the episodes over the next couple of months? What are you most interested in? What doesn’t thrill you? Share your thoughts!

“Dead Or Alive” Teaser

Here’s the extended teaser for next week’s episode of The Flash, titled “Dead Or Alive”.

I thought I’d posted the official synopsis for it already but apparently didn’t, so here it is:

DC COMICS’ GYPSY ARRIVES ON EARTH-1 – H.R.’s (Tom Cavanagh) past catches up with him when a bounty hunter with vibe powers named Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) arrives in Central City to bring him back to Earth-19 to stand trial for his crime. It turns out inter-dimensional travel is illegal on their Earth. H.R. surrenders but when Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) find out that H.R.’s only hope would be to challenge Gypsy to a fight to the death, they intercede and Cisco offers to fight Gypsy instead.

Looking forward to the debut of Gypsy? What do you hope to see done with her?

New Extended Flash Teaser

The CW has released an extended teaser for the next episode of The Flash (and possibly a few episodes beyond), titled “Borrowing Problems From The Future”. In it, we see Iris find out about the tragic event which will happen five months in the future, and what the speedsters and Team Flash are planning to do to avert it.

The mid-season return airs next week on January 24th, and keep in mind that Legends of Tomorrow will now be shown right after The Flash. Anyone looking forward to the return of either show? Feel free to talk about what you want to see!

Surprise Returns To Flash Season Three

Spoilers here for upcoming episodes!

It’s been announced recently that two familiar actors will be returning this season on The Flash: Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne) and Robbie Amell (Ronnie Raymond). No word yet on how or why they’ll be returning, though some have pointed out that Savitar’s been known to impersonate dead people for his own ends, and of course there are multiple Earths for doppelgangers to appear in. Still, it’ll be good to see both of them again, and Eddie has been much-missed by a lot of fans.

How do you think their returns will be handled on the series? What do you hope to see done with the characters? Share your thoughts here!

More Characters Announced For Season Three

In addition to the information about the Music Meister announced this weekend, The Flash showrunners have also revealed details about other upcoming characters. Episodes 13 and 14 will be about Grodd and Gorilla City, and Keith David will join the series to voice Solovar. TVLine has a few more details. “One of the episodes will take place in Gorilla City [on Earth-2],” Andrew Kreisberg added, “and one of them will take place on Earth-1.”

And Solovar isn’t the only character to be announced. We’ll see the return of the Black Flash, who was transformed into that form from Hunter Zolomon at the end of last season. Comics Alliance quotes Andrew Kreisberg as saying:

“He will [be] the classic comic book Grim Reaper aspect. It’s just going to be on multiple shows. He’s a classic character and we have storylines on multiple shows that fit having him return. There’s something so scary about him, even scarier than when he was just a man because now he is the Grim Reaper, he is like the Devil. How do you stop the Devil? It presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears.”

Apparently the Black Flash isn’t expected to be played by Teddy Sears again, as the actor is busy in another series. And you’ll notice from the quote that the character may be appearing on several shows, which is interesting. Might he become a generalized Grim Reaper for everyone in the CWverse, and not just for speedsters?

Are you looking forward to Gorilla City, Solovar, and the Black Flash? What would you like to see done with them?

Flash/Supergirl Crossover Villain Revealed

Months ago we heard that there would be a musical crossover between The Flash and Supergirl, and people have been wondering ever since what would cause the characters to sing. It’s been reported this weekend that the cause will be the villain the Music Meister. You may remember him from the Batman: the Brave and the Bold animated series, which featured him as the singing villain in “Mayhem of the Music Meister!” who got other people to sing too. He’ll probably have the same abilities in the CW crossover as well.

In the animated series he was voiced by Neil Patrick Harris and there’s no word on who will play him on live television, but it’d sure be cool to see NPH reprise the role. However, showrunner Greg Berlanti says they haven’t cast the character yet.

Looking forward to the Music Meister? Who would you like to see play him? And who do you want to see sing in the episode? Share your thoughts!
