This week’s Lying in the Gutters includes an excerpt from The Flash Companion. It’s a later segment from the same Mark Waid interview that I previously posted here (on creating Impulse). In this segment, Waid discusses the editorial directive from above that changed Impulse to Kid Flash, and then Kid Flash to the Flash.
It’s about 2/3 of the way through the column, the section labeled “Flashburning Bridges.”
Is it indelicate to ask who the editor was/is?

Really interesting. I had this book on my wish list on Amazon, but I think I’m going to have to buy it myself rather than wait. I thought it was going to be one of those boring “bio of every Flash villain/character” types of books, but it looks like it’s got a lot more in there.

@Rockin’ Rich: I doubt Waid will name anyone, but discussion online seems to have settled on Dan Didio. And I suppose whether it was his call or not, he is the EIC.
@BrianR: Glad you’re enjoying what you’ve seen! And really, the book is 90% interviews and articles. The character bios take up a very small part of the book.
