Thanks for the link, Kelson! I’ve been doing a Flash-themed week, and also have a fairly lengthy review of Flashpoint up as well. I can’t believe they aren’t releasing the tie-in miniseries in hardcover!
Hembeck parody:
That is one of my favorite covers with Flash. It’s like that moment when in DCAU Justice League when Lex Luthor in Wally’s body pulls off the cowl to find out who Flash is…and doesn’t recognize the face. I adore that kind of thing. ADORE IT! (What made it triply fun was the comment to be found in the original posting. The one about Scott Free. 😛
By the way, I used your archives on Wally to go back in time to July. Didio and company were quoted a couple of times as saying that there were no plans for using Wally in the new Flash book (even though it was clear that Manupal wanted to have him as well…at least at some point.) I remembered reading that and caught something, but was too upset to totally process it at the time: the FLASH book. If Wally is truly benched, why wouldn’t they have phrased it as DC rather than Flash?
So I have some shred of hope left that Wally will one day be returned, but in another book, not the Flash one.
On the other hand…just how many promises did they make and break regarding the character these past five years? I’m trying not to think about that.
I honestly don’t think we’re going to get any Wally for a good long while.
The new 52 is still doing well saleswise, and until that changes, I can’t see DC messing with their plan to erase the Flash Family from existence.
You ever see that photo of the determined/scared-out-of-its-wits kitten dangling from the end of a rope by one measly claw? That’s me. Don’t mess with my grip on fantasy. 🙁
