At last, the answer to the question that’s plagued DC fans for decades: Who’s faster, Superman or The Flash? Call your bookie and bet the farm, because you’ve never seen a run like this – and if speedsters keep dying at the pace they’re going, you might never see another one again!

Retailers please note: This issue will ship with two covers. For every 25 copies of the Standard Edition (with a cover by Ethan Van Sciver), retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition (with a cover by Ethan Van Sciver). Please see the Previews Order Form for more information.

Comment #1. That question of who’s faster? It’s been answered many times over. It’s always close, and if there’s a winner, it’s always the Flash.

Comment #2. Nothing says “Bringing back Flash from the dead” like “Killing off a bunch of Flashes.” I swear DC is trying to kill my interest in this book a little more every time they release new information about it.

Yeah, I’m with you, Kelson. The solits haven’t really thrilled me. This series needs to really “sell” me on why Barry Allen NEEDS to be back, and why he’s intrinsicly “better” than Wally. So far, doesn’t look like that’s covered.

I dunno… I think I’m gonna pass on this one.

    Hi… long-time listener, first-time caller.

Is it just me, or is it interesting that in the cover above you can’t see the Flash’s eye colour? For virtually any other hero, this would be a non-issue, but in this case green versus blue means a world of difference…

I can’t wait. This is going to be one of the best Flash stories. I hope the first issue kills all of the negativity because it’s really bringing me down.

Let it go already Barry is back and Flash takes his rightful place among DC icons… Wally will continue as a much needed and respected Titan but his book and story had gotten unreadable, he had been written into a corner. DC is Barry Bruce Clark Arthur and Hal. The Flash is here for good!

I just happened across the “comments” on this site, detracting against this series for what some perceive DC doing in regards to killing the speedsters. Have any of you actually read this issue? It’s fantastic! It’s utterly fantastic. It’s MORE than just about what you think it is. Give it a chance. You can’t gain everything based on the solicits, sorry. Actually read through the issue, enjoy the characterization, enjoy the art, enjoy the emotion, THEN say it isn’t for you.

You may have noticed as you happened by that this post is 3 months old — and so are most of the comments. At the time, all anyone had to go on were the solicitations and speculation.

If you’re interested, you may want to look at a more recent comment thread by people who have now had a chance to read the book.
