Hartley Sawyer Cast As Ralph Dibny

Today the CW announced the casting of Hartley Sawyer as the Elongated Man in The Flash TV series. As reported by Variety, Sawyer’s most recent work is also from the CW, as part of the web series Saving The Human Race. And on The Flash, Ralph the detective will apparently be joining forces with Team Flash to solve one of Central City’s greatest mysteries.

Looking forward to seeing Elongated Man this season? What do you hope to see done with him on the show? Share your thoughts!

About Lia

Lia is a Canadian fan of the Flashes and the Rogues. She's particularly interested in memorabilia of the Rogues and Reverse Flashes, collecting art, and memorizing a whole lot of pointless trivia. She may be the world's only diehard fan of the Top due to a love of hopeless causes, and she runs a fan blog on Tumblr, known as gorogues or The Rogues Kick Ass.

I hope they somehow incorporate Gingold into Ralph’s origin. Like maybe he was drinking it when he somehow got powers and suddenly has the ability to become like liquid (stretch). That would be neat. Or maybe just have him drink it as an any day beverage. I also hope they introduce Sue although that’s not likely.

That’d be awesome! But I’m guessing his powers will be tied in with the particle accelerator to some extent, particularly because Wellsobard name-dropped Ralph in first season as someone who’d died in the accident. We’ll see, I guess. I do wish the CWverse would embrace some of the weirder stuff in the DCU, but considering I still see people complaining about the “stupidity” of names like Leonard Snart and Abra Kadabra or references to the Philosopher’s Stone, maybe it’s understandable. There are a lot of newcomers to the show who’ve never read the comics at all and seem to have no interest in ever doing so.
