Extended Flash Trailer

The CW has just released an extended version of the teaser we saw a few days ago; this one’s about a minute and a half long and has footage not shown in the previous trailer. It gives us an introduction to Patty Spivot, and has more about a few villains we’ll be seeing in second season. It’s possibly spoilery, however, so be warned.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the villains and the October 6th premiere? That’s not so far away!

Barry’s Choice: Ethics of Time Travel in the Flash Season Finale

When I first watched “Fast Enough,” the Flash Season One finale, I was relieved that they weren’t jumping into Flashpoint, and that they weren’t wiping out an entire season’s worth of stories (not to mention elements of Arrow). There’s only so far you can take a reset button without removing tension or basically creating a new show.

But as the summer has gone on, the storytelling logic feels less important, and I’ve looked at the characters’ actions from an in-universe perspective (spoilers ahead):

New Season Two Trailer

The CW has released a new teaser trailer for the first few episodes of The Flash‘s second season. It gives us our first good look at Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) and Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland), as well as hints about alternate earths. One wonders how many we’ll be seeing over the course of the series.

The Flash Season Zero #12 is out this week, and Caitlin and Cicso have to deal with a trap related to one of Caitlin’s old mentors.

Flash vol.6 History Lessons is out in softcover, collecting the last few stories written by Brian Buccellato at the end of the Manapul/Buccellato run. Flash and Deadman team up to find the Keystone Killer, and we see the first New 52 meeting of the Flash and Green Lantern.

New in DC’s digital backissues:

Flash #198 “While trying to help some teenaged orphans, Flash receives a blow to the head and believes he’s eight years old again and not The Flash. “Call It…Magic”!”

Flash #199 “A serum makes Flash appear dead. “The Explosive Heart of America.””

ComiXology has a DC on TV Sale featuring the series that inspired the current crop of DC/Vertigo titles. Books like Gotham Central, iZombie, and of course Green Arrow and The Flash.

The Flash books on discount include all of Flash: Rebirth, Blitz and Rogue War, plus a number of Rogues’ first appearances from the Silver Age and several Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash stories.,

Flash Odds And Ends

Jay Garrick promo The CW has released a new promotional image for The Flash‘s second season, this one featuring the famed helmet of Jay Garrick. It serves as a helpful reminder of the season premiere date and the day/time the show airs.

Entertainment Weekly tells us that Malese Jow (Linda Park) will be back for the second season, although as of yet there aren’t many details about her role. It’d be interesting if the article’s reference to Wally is a hint, though, because Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West) is about the same age as Jow and it’d be entirely feasible if their characters started dating. And Entertainment Weekly also has a brief snippet of information about Iris’ new role in Season Two. Not surprisingly, her role within Team Flash has changed now that she knows Barry’s secret.

And finally, here’s the latest promo clip for The Flash and Arrow…and it’s surprisingly musical. There are no spoilers, it’s more like a music video.

The premiere is only five weeks away! What are you hoping to see done with Iris and Linda this season?
