The Hollywood Reporter announced today that the upcoming season of The Flash TV series on the CW will be its finale. The last season will consist of only thirteen episodes, which is notably shorter than previous seasons. Presumably the intent is to allow the series to wrap up gracefully, rather than hurry to a rushed conclusion or draw things out for too long, so this schedule will probably be ideal for the show.
The final season begins production next month.
DC’s Fandome event has been going on all day, and they gave us a quick glimpse of the coming season of The Flash TV series. You may recall that season 6 was cut short due to the pandemic, so Eva McCulloch is still out there and she appears as a major character in the teaser. The Top will also appear in one of the episodes, and makes a memorable appearance in the clip. Check it out!

The CW has released the trailer for the January 22nd episode of The Flash, titled “Seeing Red”. In it, Barry must protect some metahumans from Cicada’s rampage.

There’s an even longer teaser here, which contains footage from several episodes and gives us a better look at what will be happening in the next episode or two. Without spoiling what’s in the teaser, it hints at why next week’s episode is titled what it is.

The three-part DC CW crossover “Elseworlds” begins this coming Sunday, and you can see the last and longest trailer below! It gives us a good glimpse into the premise, the heroes, and the villains of the story arc.
