Official Stills From “Flash Of Two Worlds”

The CW has released some official still images from the second episode of the upcoming season, titled “Flash Of Two Worlds”. This gives us an even better look at Jay Garrick’s costume than we saw yesterday. Flashfans.org has the rest of the images, and there you can see more stills of Jay, Barry, and Patty Spivot.

I like what they’re doing with Jay’s outfit, which is firmly based on the pre-New 52 comics, and am particularly glad for his doughboy-style helmet. We’ll see how the whole costume looks on television, but it seems pretty good in stills.

Also, the CW has posted a one-page promotional comic for the season premiere, “The Man Who Saved Central City”. It can be seen at this link on the CW’s official Flash blog.

The show begins airing next week, and I’m really looking forward to it! Hope other people are too!

Official Synopsis For The Third Episode

Behind the cut you’ll find the official synopsis for the third episode of the season, titled “Family Of Rogues”. It contains a fairly significant plot spoiler, so decide for yourself if you actually want to read it or be surprised.

Iris West’s Mother Cast

Details are light, as they’re keeping the character’s name and even which episode she’ll appear in under wraps, but the CW has cast Vanessa Williams (the other one, not the singer).

On the show, Joe West hasn’t revealed much about what happened to Iris’ mother, though it’s been implied that she died some time back. Whether we’ll be seeing an alternate reality version, or whether Joe has simply been allowing people including their daughter to think that she died — or even whether she’s been allowing them both to think she’s dead — remains to be seen.

In the original comics, Iris’ parents are Ira and Nadine West — or rather, her adoptive parents are. Her birth parents Fran and Eric Russell sent her into the distant past to escape a devastating 30th-century world war. (They survived the war, and later reunited with their daughter.) She has two adoptive siblings, Rudolph (Wally’s father) and Charlotte. In the New 52, Iris’ father is William West, and her unnamed mother died when she was very young. In this version, she has two brothers: Rudy (still Wally’s father) and their younger brother Daniel, who would go on to find his own connection to the speed force.

Synopsis For The Flash Season Premiere

The CW has released the official synopsis for the first episode of The Flash‘s new season. Titled “The Man Who Saved Central City”, it will air on October 6th.

BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN — Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Gabrielle Stanton (#201). Original airdate 10/6/2015

While we’re here, there’s a new brief ad for the Season One DVD and Blu-Ray editions. They’ll be released next week, on September 22nd.
