Some linkblogging for the weekend. Since I missed last week’s round-up, and since there’s been a lot of talk going on this week, I’m breaking down the two weeks’ worth of links into several posts.
- Devin’s thoughts on the new Flash team over at Fastest Fan Alive
- Every Flash #1 at That F’ing Monkey
- Five goofiest moments in The Flash (v.1) #132-136 at Comics Should Be Good!
- Flashpoint/Counterpoint: Unwinnable’s Flash fans explain their favorites: Barry, Wally, Bart or…John?
- White Lantern Trifecta (Heroclix & action figures) at FFA
- That F’ing Monkey: Flash Lights
- Superhero Movies In Development at The Onion – I can imagine forcing the Flash to ride a bike to keep this race fair. (via @dixonium)
Devin, if I had a blog it would have read almost exactly like yours. (The main difference is that I wouldn’t jump to other comic companies…just dump the industry outright save for the movies.)
Damn. I just realized that my dream of a comic store actually opening within walking distance of either home or business is utterly dead. And I dislike reading from a glowing screen…hard on the eyes. If you don’t think so now just wait until your eyeballs are as old as mine.
There’s work being done on producing e-readers with a color “e-ink” display like the Kindle. I don’t have a Kindle myself, but two relatives do, and they’re very readable (if black-and-white). It’s not backlit, so you read it under room lighting just like an ordinary book.
Last I heard the color displays were still kind of slow, but there’s a rumor going around that Amazon is planning a color Kindle near the end of the year. If so, that’s a good sign that the technology is ready (or will be soon).
