The Fastest Forum Alive

With the launch of the new Flash series, one fan forum is setting up their own relaunch: The Fastest Forum Alive sort of fell by the wayside during Flashpoint, but they’re back up and running again with an improved site, and they’re ready to bring in new members.

So if you’re looking for a place to talk about the Flash, and the forums you’ve been to just don’t seem to fit, zoom over to the Fastest Forum Alive and give it a spin!

I would but after yesterday when at another forummy butt was officially handed to me on a platter for having stated that I disliked the direction DD & GJ had taken the DCU and Flash in the last decade….even if civil and with a touch of innocent humor thrown in (no profanity, no yelling and screaming)…

Politeness, yeah, but when it gets so you feel that *any* disparaging remarks on what a creator team/company is doing will get you banned…it’s not worth the headache. Get the feeling that DD can sue the sites maybe if its said his leadership is less than stellar. Or maybe it’s just that with the name ‘Wally’ thrown in. I dunno.

I’m kind of wary of ‘forums’ right now.

    Seriously.

I wasn’t sure whether I should include it in the article, but the FFA admin who contacted me did say that, in light of what’s going on at certain other forums, they want to establish a place where Flash fans can speak their minds.

Also: I suspect I know which forum you were at, and all I can say is that I hope they enjoy the echo chamber they’re creating.

I’m all for blocking people for being jerks, but they’ve made it official policy to block a whole class of opinion on what’s essentially a matter of taste, regardless of how it’s stated.

There’s a world of difference between “I like this Flash better for these reasons and I’m happy/sad that he is/isn’t appearing” and “I like this Flash better, and you should too, because anyone with a brain would like my Flash better, so shut up you whiny crybaby.”

One is a simple statement of opinion which can be part of a discussion. The other is insulting on multiple levels, and serves either as a dismissal or as incitement to a flamewar. The fact that the first is being banned as thoroughly as the second is just plain sad.

        It is sad.
It was a place I absolutely LOVED visiting with some great people.
Unfortunately there’s nothing there nowadays to warrant a visit anymore.

Yeah, Kelson, that #10 was not kosher in my book; however, I was (unfortunately) referring to my *new* forum go-to place where after posting the day before I made it back and saw that the moderator had posted a warning….and that my post had been totally eaten. I was flabbergasted because I hadn’t said anything impolite or flame-war-ish in it. The mod pm’d me back that my post was in the middle of some rule breaking posts and since *one sentence within a large post* was kind of/maybe a little objectionable if you looked at it sideways…..he did a judgement call and pull mine as well. Not remove the one sentence that might have been misconstrued by someone high on drugs….no, the whole enchilada. To say the least I was not pleased and am considering pulling out of there too, but dang it…I’m running out of options for varied forums!

So okay, if Married vouches for the new Flash forum as well I’ll give it a try because you two have good taste. Kind of crazy right now, though. I’m using up practically all my free time just typing this. 🙂

Feel like Kermit The Frog singing “It ain’t easy being Red & Gold…”

I joined a while ago. The update looks great.
Kyer, it is a great board.
Jerk free and as Kelson stated safe to voice an opinion without getting slapped down over over eager mods.

Got on and then got off in a hurry. I’ll pm you as to why, Married Guy, at the forum. Maybe it was a fluke, but it gave me another white hair.
