Official ‘Flashpoint Paradox’ Trailer Released

IGN.com has posted the first trailer for the Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated film. If viewing the video at IGN’s site is a problem, you can also find it on YouTube.

There’s an embedded video and some general spoilers after the cut.

The film’s story seems to diverge somewhat from the original comic storyline, as indicated by the increased role of Professor Zoom and presence of the Top. I’m personally excited by this because it means those of us who read the comic will still be in for a few surprises, although I’d imagine some people will be disappointed by a retelling that isn’t completely faithful to the original. But I think the trailer’s great, and yes, I’m utterly delighted by the presence of the Top –- I’ll definitely be buying this film.

As has been reported previously, the film will be available July 30th on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand and digital download formats from Warner Brothers Animation and DC Entertainment. It stars Justin Chambers as Barry Allen and Kevin McKidd as Thomas Wayne, alongside a large cast of other voice actors.

What do you think of this? Are you excited by the trailer, or were you hoping for something a bit closer to the original storyline?

OHMYGOD. I am so excited!! I LOVE The Flash!! I’m a bit sad that it’s not Wally though, as he’s my favourite!

….I’d say that I hope the subplot with Wally remains in the film, but it didn’t end particularly well for him. So hopefully that’ll be one of the changed aspects of the film!

Lia! I started reading the article without glancing at the author and when saw ‘Top’ immediately thought “Oh, good, Lia will like that…” heh. Happy for you.

As for me….on holding pattern until I find out just how bad the graphic violence is going to be depicted. A ‘little’ hopeful that it isn’t following the comic because….heh, for me the wrong Flash, but still Flash and the animation art is good. However, I still think this is going to be their vehicle for changing the costumes in DCAU permanently from ‘briefs’ to ‘high collars’ so the finale will likely be similar to the book. For me, that was NOT a happy event, so….mixed feelings.

Thank you 🙂 I was incredibly hyper for a while after seeing it :> Maybe he’ll finally get a speaking role — he’s never had any dialogue in any of the animated properties he’s appeared in so far.

Yeah, I imagine that the animated films after this one will use New 52 designs and characterizations, which personally doesn’t thrill me. This film may be my jumping off point. Still, it’s a huge relief to get one last hurrah, because there isn’t much DC stuff that makes me happy these days.

Not a favorite story of mine by any means, but the animation looks pretty good. It seems more anime inspired compared to past efforts which are more artist based. Is Conroy returning as Bruce at the end? i thought I read somewhere that he was involved.
