Andy Kubert Talks Flashpoint

Well, sort of.

Next year’s Flash-centered event is still shrouded in secrecy, so when CBR interviewed Andy Kubert at FanExpo, the artist couldn’t say much about Geoff Johns’ story — or even which characters are involved! He did talk about the Flash’s appeal, and his approach to portraying super-speed, but

Hm… based on the two pictures the Flash in Flashpoint is Barry-centric. Possible that one picture with Jay, Wally, and Bart is the only pic we get to see of the other speedsters.

If this is an alternate timeline and/or P.Zoom is still up to his tricks, then the Central City’s forensic scientist in that one pic may well be Thawne getting ready to suit up as opposed to Barry’s suit being switched to yellow.

Oddly, the more time goes by, the LESS enthusiasm I’m feeling for Flashpoint. By that I mean if Speedforce does come out, then this may be just more Barry heavy stuff while they save Wally for the Speedforce book? They do show Barry in the forefront both times while Jay and Wally look like rehashes of those ‘stricken in warring speed forces’ images from Rebirth.

On the other hand I’m currently on the losing side of my own battle with the Roach Rogue gang and am feeling a mite depressed.

    *sigh* Another year to go.
    Barring deadline changes.

DC is all about Barry these days. IMO, there’s no question that Barry Allen is going to be at the forefront of this.

To what extent the other Flashes may show up, who knows?

I don’t care how much or how little they reveal, I am SUPEREXCITED about this the same way I was about Final Crisis, Blackest Night, Brightest Day…it’s all too much. Damn it, DC!!! Stop pocketing so much of my money!!! Your stories and events are too well plotted!!! 😛
