I guess this cover answers one question from the teaser for issue #1. Iris doesn’t exactly look too thrilled, does she?
Nice to see Piper back.
The closer we get to Flashpoint, the more overwhelming it gets trying to cover it. You’ve probably noticed that I’ve been sticking with the directly Flash-related and Rogues-related announcements lately. Partly it’s keeping the site focused, but a lot of it is just time.
I’d really love a “Just the Flash ma’am” list when it is possible to do so. I’m sure Flashpoint will be great but my wallet can’t handle buying every tie-in.
That’s kind of what I’m going for with the “Countdown to…” section in the sidebar, but I’ll see about putting together an actual post focusing on the Flash/Rogues Flashpoint series.
Music vibrations versus mirrors?
I wonder if Piper is still a good guy here. I hope so. He got kind’a preachy at times, but overall I really liked Piper and hope he kicks Mirror Master rear view. ;P
Me too. Johns wrote Piper as a good guy in his last appearance (Rogues’ Revenge), and I really hope he sticks with that. The character’s been put through the wringer so many times that it’s become overkill.
Can we technically assume that Captain Cold is Central City’s greatest hero? I think we all think that, but I don’t think it has ever been stated explicitly. With Piper back, maybe he’s leading the fight against the Rogues, lead by Cold.
One of the first teasers was “Why is Citizen Cold the greatest hero of Central City?”
I really want to know how Piper is connected to all this, though.
He wasn’t on the cover of Flashpoint #1, where Citizen Cold faces off against his enemies, so I’m assuming Piper isn’t a Rogue here.
And it looks like he’s fighting Mirror Master.

Judging by her appearance, I’m interested in seeing how Iris gets out this particular pickle of a situation.

Cold’s kissy face disturbs me.
Piper could be one of Cold’s allies, or he could be on the wrong side of the Rogues for other reasons (or maybe he’s even fighting Cold, and that mirror is just an unrelated image). It’ll be interesting to see what’s up.
First of all, I don’t think we can definitively assume that the woman on that cover is in fact Iris West. It’s a brunette. That’s all we really know at this point…
Second, you can clearly see Mirror Master’s face in the floating mirror. Whether or not he’s fighting Piper or observing Citizen Cold’s “one true weakness” (the woman he shouldn’t love) is debatable…
