Kid Flash Officially Joins Legends of Tomorrow

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Keiynan Lonsdale is joining Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, beginning with the second half of this season. Kid Flash Wally West will join the team now that he’s left Central City. (via ComicBook.com)

Showrunners on The Flash have talked about the difficulty of writing two speedsters on a show, so with any luck this will give Wally more opportunities to shine.

Legends of Tomorrow returns February 12. It will share the Monday 8pm time slot with Supergirl, so that instead of breaking for reruns in the middle of the season, they’ll each break for the other show.

Movement on the Flashpoint Movie – Spider-Man: Homecoming Writers in Negotiations to Direct

Variety reports that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are in negotiations to direct Flashpoint. The stand-alone movie has been without a director since November 2016, when Rick Famuyiwa left the project. (via Comics Beat)

As far as super-heroes go, the pair wrote the story for Spider-Man: Homecoming. But that doesn’t tell us much about their directing style. They have directed a few films together, notably the 2015 comedy Vacation and the upcoming murder mystery Game Night – so it’s anybody’s guess what sort of tone the studio is aiming for at this point. (Presumably if they’re actually adapting the Flashpoint comic book, even loosely, they aren’t going for broad comedy.)

Flashpoint stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and while it’s billed as a Flash solo film, it will also feature the DCEU’s Wonder Woman and Cyborg.

Sneak Peeks At The Upcoming Flash War

Monday brought a lot of teases for the upcoming “Flash War” storyline, in the form of some preview pages and an interview at CBR. Writer Joshua Williamson posted several coloured preview pages from Flash Annual at his Twitter account, and then CBR posted the same pages plus another soon afterward. The annual is due out on January 31st, and is the prelude to “Flash War”.

It seems that somebody has torn through the Flash Museum — possibly the Top, who returns in the issue — and has given us a look at some of the interesting easter eggs to be found inside. Most notably, the existence of the classic incarnation of Bart Allen, as well as Max Mercury, Johnny Quick, Savitar, the Tornado Twins, and John Fox. I think most of us would like to have many or all of them return to continuity and the Flashverse, so it’s welcome news.

Plus, we know there will be conflict between Barry and the original Wally West during “Flash War”, so there’s a page of that too. Looks like the younger Wally may have to play peacemaker between them.

CBR has also posted an interview with Williamson, in which he talks a bit about what we’ll be seeing in Flash issues for the coming year, including “Flash War”.
