Media Updates: Flash & Batman in the Movies, Jesse Quick Returns, SDCC Panel Schedule

Warner Bros. TV schedule is up for Comic-Con International. The Flash TV Show Panel will be Saturday, July 23 at 5pm in Ballroom 20:

Parallel universes…and doppelgangers…and man-sharks, oh my! The second season of The CW’s highest-rated series had more than its fair share of twists and turns, but none compared to Barry Allen’s jaw-dropping decision to go back in time and save his mother from his arch-nemesis, Reverse-Flash, a decision that called the entire timeline into question. But fear not, fans, you won’t have to wait until the fall to start getting answers to some of your most pressing questions, as the cast and creative team behind the show make their annual appearance at Comic-Con to begin giving fans insight into the show’s highly anticipated third season.

Violett Beane is set to return as Jesse Wells in Season 3 of the show. No word yet on whether she’ll be the Earth-2 Jesse we know or from another timeline, or whether we’ll see her as a speedster anytime soon. (via ComicsAlliance)

Warner Bros. showed a scene from Justice League featuring Batman (Ben Affleck) and the Flash (Ezra Miller) to the press, and CinemaBlend describes the scene, which shows the first meeting of Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen. The tone is reportedly a bit lighter than most of Batman v. Superman, and the scene tells us a few important things about the cinematic universe’s Barry Allen, and more. Spoilers of course.

Flash Movie Gets New Director

Deadline reports that Rick Famuyiwa has been chosen to direct the 2018 Flash movie. Recently known for directing (and writing) the Sundance film Dope, he takes over from former director Seth Grahame-Smith, who also wrote the film’s script. The movie stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, and will tie in with the other Justice League-related films.

What do you think of the new choice of director? Anyone seen Dope or any of Famuyiwa’s other films?

Flash TV Tidbits

As we prepare for the season finale this Tuesday, there are a few bits of Flash news here and there. Firstly, some promotional material from the finale, in the form of the official one-page comic and some official episode stills.

And the CW has released a general promo video for their various DC superhero shows (Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl), which isn’t particularly spoilery.

Finally, ComicBook.com spoke to Grant Gustin about Season 3 of The Flash, in which Gustin says Barry won’t lose his optimism despite all the tribulations he’s recently endured. Please be advised that the article contains major spoilers for last week’s episode of the series.

Looking forward to the finale this week? Or are you already thinking ahead to Season 3? What do you hope to see in both?

Four-Way CW Crossover Coming in December

The CW has announced a mega-crossover between The Flash, Arrow, Legends Of Tomorrow, and Supergirl in December. There are no details about the story or schedule yet (it’s obviously a long way away), but it should be fun and will expand the CW’s DC universe. It’d be nice if they could bring back John Constantine again too, although that might be a little trickier given its cancellation and rights belonging to a different network.

Newsarama reports that the CW will be airing Supergirl in the Monday 8-9 PM timeslot, so fortunately nothing changes schedule-wise for that show.

Are you intrigued by the crossover? What would you like to see in it?

“The Race Of His Life” Promo

Here’s the extended trailer for the season finale of The Flash, which will air next week. Make sure you watch this week’s episode before seeing the promo (it contains spoilers)!

Should be an intense episode, as is befitting a finale. What do you hope to see in it? Share your thoughts!
