A Glimpse of Barry’s Lab in the Justice League Film

Warner Brothers has given us a peek at Barry’s lab in the Justice League film, and it perhaps tells us a bit about him. He obviously has a scientific and technical background, as he’s presumably able to understand what he’s looking at on those screens, and can split his attention or take in a lot information so he isn’t overwhelmed by all the data around him. And he’s obviously studying his powers and/or is working to build a better suit for himself, as was hinted in an earlier teaser when Bruce Wayne speaks to him about it.

Plus he admires Nikola Tesla and watches Rick and Morty while he works, which makes him something of a typical nerd of this era.

We’ve seen the lab before in some of the teasers and trailers, but I believe this is the first high-quality still image we’ve had a chance to look at. So it’s interesting and possibly illuminating for his character in the DC movieverse.

What do people think of his lab, and do you think it seems fitting for Barry Allen? Share your thoughts!

Flash Season 4 Teaser

The fourth season of The Flash TV series begins a month from now (October 10th), and the CW has just released a new thirty-second teaser for the first episode or two. The promo is titled “Hero Reborn”, and is about Barry’s return to reality after spending an unknown amount of time in the Speed Force.

What do you think of the clip? Are you looking forward to the upcoming season and a non-speedster Big Bad? Share your thoughts of what you’d like to see!

2017 Flash Cosplay Photos

I attended three comic conventions this year (Toronto Comic Con, Niagara Falls Comic Con, and Fan Expo Toronto), and while there weren’t a lot of Flash-related cosplayers, I did see a few! I photographed Speedforce reader Andrew back in March and promised to post the photos here, but ended up so busy with TV season blogging that I never got around to posting them. Eventually I decided to post all of them together after Fan Expo, which was last weekend. So without further ado, here they are! Plus one photo of me cosplaying as the Top this year, which was taken by my husband.

It seems like Jay Garrick and the Rogues were the more popular subjects for cosplay this year (I briefly saw a CW Reverse Flash at Fan Expo last weekend, but he managed to vanish after I glanced away for a moment and was never seen again, so I didn’t get a photo). I’m looking forward to seeing even more outfits in 2018!

Flash #30 Preview

DC has released the official preview for next week’s issue of The Flash, which is Flash #30. In the preview, Barry’s acting poorly due to stress and the effects of his Negative-Flash powers, and later in the issue we’ll probably get to see new villain Bloodwork in action. Check out the five pages at Comicosity.

THE FLASH #30

“BLOODWORK” part one! Barry Allen’s personal life is in shambles, his new Negative-Flash powers aren’t working properly, and someone has been tampering with evidence at the Central City Police Department. The Flash is not having a good day, and it’s going to get worse when he comes face to face with Bloodwork, a terrifying new villain with secret ties to Barry Allen.

“Negative” Part Two – Review of THE FLASH #29

The Flash’s powers have been changed dramatically since he escaped from the Reverse Flash’s Negative Speed Force. The effects are devastating, both physically and emotionally – and not just to Barry Allen. How do you deal with being as much a menace as a hero? That’s where this issue of THE FLASH takes us in another excellent story by Josh Williamson. Want to know more? Follow us after the jump!
