“The Man Who Saved Central City” Clips

The Flash returns this week with its second season, and we’ve got several clips and an interview to share.

We’ll start off with another behind-the-scenes clip, which just gives a brief glimpse of the set and what we’ll be seeing in the first few episodes of the season. It’s only mildly spoilery.

Green Arrow/Flash Digital Sale at ComiXology

We’re less than 24 hours from the US premiere of The Flash Season 2 and Arrow Season 4, and ComiXology has a tie-in sale. Digital collections are discounted up to 70% off.

They have the first five New 52 Flash collections (the whole Manapul/Buccellato run), plus the two volumes of the 2010 Brightest Day relaunch and, interestingly, the two volumes from 2006-2007 featuring Bart Allen as the Flash: Lightning in a Bottle and Full Throttle.

Now’s your chance to pick up “The Dastardly Death of the Rogues” or catch up on the New 52 Flash.

Colonel Sanders of Two Worlds!?

OK, this is up there with Archie vs. Sharknado for weird tie-in books. Apparently DC and KFC are having the Flash and Green Lantern deal with… the Colonel Sanders of Two Worlds.

I guess it makes sense, I mean, both of them are companies that use initials instead of spelling out the names. Totally the same, right?

Right?

ComicsBeat has preview pages for the comic, which will be released free at NYCC. Update You can read it for free at ComiXology. Captain Cold and Mirror Master team up with the Earth-3 Colonel Sanders. I am not making this up.

Though if they were going to go for the title reference, couldn’t they have tried to make the cover look like the classic Flash of Two Worlds?

Seth Grahame-Smith in Talks to Direct the Flash Movie

According to THR, Seth Grahame-Smith is in talks to write and direct the Flash movie starring Ezra Miller. Grahame-Smith is the author of the books Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. (via ComicsAlliance)

Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) were set to lead to the project earlier this year, but they got a better offer: A Han Solo prequel film.

In the 11 years since Warner Bros. first announced a Flash movie was in development, they’ve gone through so many directors and writers that all I can say is: Don’t get too attached. Or too upset. Chances are even if he signs on, plans will change again.

The Flash movie, set in the same world as Batman v. Superman, is scheduled for 2018. If all goes well, we’ll have seen four years of the Flash TV show by then. Just throwing that out there for perspective.

Official Stills From “Flash Of Two Worlds”

The CW has released some official still images from the second episode of the upcoming season, titled “Flash Of Two Worlds”. This gives us an even better look at Jay Garrick’s costume than we saw yesterday. Flashfans.org has the rest of the images, and there you can see more stills of Jay, Barry, and Patty Spivot.

I like what they’re doing with Jay’s outfit, which is firmly based on the pre-New 52 comics, and am particularly glad for his doughboy-style helmet. We’ll see how the whole costume looks on television, but it seems pretty good in stills.

Also, the CW has posted a one-page promotional comic for the season premiere, “The Man Who Saved Central City”. It can be seen at this link on the CW’s official Flash blog.

The show begins airing next week, and I’m really looking forward to it! Hope other people are too!
