LEGO Movie Producers Working on Flash Movie

Variety reports that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, producers of the LEGO Movie, are developing the story for the Flash movie. As previously announced, the March 2018 film is set in DC’s movie universe rather than their TV universe, and will star Ezra Miller. As ComicsAlliance points out, this suggests that Warner Bros. is looking for a lighter tone for the speedster than they’ve taken with Superman in Man of Steel, which IMO is a good move.

I’ve lost count of the number of creative teams that have been attached to a Flash movie since Warner Bros. first started planning one with David Goyer way back in 2004. But for the first time there’s enough momentum that I see a good chance of this happening (as long as the DC movie universe doesn’t crash and burn first, which is still a possibility).

WonderCon 2015 Round-Up

Big Hero 6As of last weekend, I’ve been to more WonderCons in Anaheim than San Francisco, and more with a kid in tow than without. And I’m finally at the point where I’m no longer comparing the current incarnation of the con to the previous one, and just taking it on its own terms.

Here at Speed Force, we covered Flash cosplay and the Flash TV show cast Q&A earlier in the week. My full photo gallery is on Flickr. It took a whole week, but I finally put together my write-up of the con over at K-Squared Ramblings.

Enjoy!

Extended “All-Star Team-Up” Trailer

There’s just one week to go before we get six straight weeks of Flash episodes, and the one that airs next is “All-Star Team-Up”. We saw the shorter trailer earlier, but this one’s a full minute long.

Also, Flashfans.org has official stills from the upcoming episode “Who Is Harrison Wells?” They’re fairly spoilery, so be warned. The episode is due to air April 21st.

It’s going to be quite a ride to the end, but I’m looking forward to it! How about you guys?

Flash TV Show Trailer and Q&A at WonderCon 2015

Flash Panel

This past Sunday, WonderCon hosted a Flash TV show panel in Anaheim, CA. The largest room at the convention center was packed, but not overflowing, as the lights dimmed and they showed a trailer for the upcoming episodes building to the season finale.

It was a different trailer than the one that ran after last week’s episode, and it looks awesome!. (YouTube link via The Beat.)

Cast members Carlos Valdez (Cisco Ramon), Candice Patton (Iris West), and Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow) came out on stage, along with producer Andrew Kreisberg. (Jesse L. Martin was scheduled to be there, but got sick and had to cancel.) Once they were all introduced, someone in the audience shouted out, “Where’s Barry?” “Oh, he’s running around…”
