Flash #7
“Lightning Strikes Twice” part 7! Still reeling from Godspeed’s devastating attack, the beleaguered Flash realizes that to defeat this menacing new foe he must take away the Speed Force power from Central City’s new citizen speedsters. There’s only one problem: they don’t want to give it back.

“Run Devil Run” Teaser

The CW has released a new teaser for early Season Three of The Flash, called “Run Devil Run”. Looks like it contains scenes from the first episode, and possibly the second.

And here’s the official synopsis for the second episode of the season, titled “Paradox”. It will air on October 11th.

“Paradox”— (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

THE AFTERMATH — Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the effects from Flashpoint are much greater than he thought. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert (Tom Felton) and is surprised by Julian’s immediate disdain for Barry. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#302). Original airdate 10/11/2016.

Of note is that Barry’s new co-worker is now called ‘Julian Albert’, whereas he was known as ‘Julian Dorn’ in earlier information. Unless it’s a red herring, this lends credence to the theory that he’ll be Dr Alchemy (Albert Desmond).

Excited to see Wally West in action? How about the Rival? Share your thoughts!

Zooming through Long Beach Comic Con (2016)

lbcc-outsideI only made it to one afternoon at Long Beach Comic Con this year, so my experience was really rushed. Even so, I managed to attend a panel on the Lawyers of Hell’s Kitchen, caught up (briefly) with several artists and writers, picked up some toys for the kid and checked out a ton of artwork. This is the con’s eighth year, and they’ve moved to a bigger section of the convention center. That involved moving the entrance to the other side, which had a bigger impact on the feel of the show than you might expect.

zoomNo Flash news, unfortunately. There was a DC panel the previous day, but not the day I was there. And while I did meet Brett Booth (he had set up next to Norm Rapmund’s regular table in Artist’s Alley), I had to cut the visit short in order to make it to the one panel I mentioned. He was telling a story about having to redo covers and redesign characters at the last minute during the Rebirth launch.

There was some impressive cosplay, including this Zoom. I’ve seen photos on Instagram, but his costume is even more impressive in person. (Staying in character, he leaned toward me after the photo, pointing an intimidating finger at my Flash T-shirt, and growled menacingly.)

“Flashpoint” Official Synopsis

The CW has released the official synopsis for the season premiere of The Flash, titled “Flashpoint”. It’ll air on October 4th.

WHAT WOULD YOU SACRIFICE TO HAVE EVERYTHING YOU’VE EVER WANTED? — Barry (Grant Gustin) is living his dream life – his parents are alive, he’s asked Iris West (Candice Patton) on a date and he can finally be a normal guy as Central City has another speedster, Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), running around saving the city. When Barry starts forgetting parts of his old life, the Reverse Flash (guest star Matt Letscher) taunts his nemesis and tells him that there will be serious repercussions for Barry and the ones he loves if he continues to live in this alternate universe. In addition to losing his memories, his powers will also start to fade. When disaster strikes, Barry must decide if he wants to continue to live in this world as Barry Allen or return to his universe as The Flash.

The Flash season three premiere, “Flashpoint,” will air on October 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

In other news, Kevin Smith accidentally (or not-so-accidentally) let slip that the episode he’ll be directing will be titled “Killer Frost”. That’s rather interesting, considering Danielle Panabaker firmly said that Killer Frost is dead when I saw her at Fan Expo a few weeks ago. Smith’s episode will be the seventh of the season.

The season premiere is less than three weeks away! Who’s looking forward to it?
