Two new Flash stories are out in comic shops this week!

AICN has a preview of Flash #36 by Venditti, Jensen, Booth, Coelho, Rapmund, and Dalhouse. There’s also a LEGO variant cover. “Out of time! The Flash is trapped in a bizarre, lost land terrorized by castaways from the past, present, and future. But that leaves Central City without a hero…or does it?”

At Comicosity, read the beginning of Secret Origins #7, featuring the origin of Barry Allen (New 52 edition) as written by Robert Venditti and Van Jensen with art by Andre Coehlo.

Update: As Wayne points out in the comments, DC has also released a digital edition of DC Special Series #11 from 1978, featuring an 80-page Flash story starring Barry Allen, Wally West, Jay Garrick, and Johnny Quick.

And finally, there’s a single-page comic book preview of tonight’s Flash TV show episode, “Blackout.”

This Week: Plastique; Superman & Flash Race out of the 1970s

DC Comics Presents #2The Flash TV series returns tonight with “Plastique.” In comics, DC’s digital backlist has started on the classic DC Comics Presents series that began in 1978. Last week, they released issue , the first part of a two-part race across time and space between Superman and the Flash. Issue will be out on Wednesday.

Superman and the Flash are forced to take sides in an alien war: Flash must protect a time traveller who plans to change the past, or one side will destroy the Earth. Superman must stop him, because the new timeline will erase Krypton from history. Professor Zoom, dimensional warps, and the Legion of Super-Heroes all get in the way. Written by Martin Pasko, with art by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and Dan Adkins.

This Week: Flash Seazon Zero Comics in Print & Digital, Rerun on TV

Flash Season Zero Chapter 5The Flash TV show is a rerun this week, but new episodes return next Tuesday with an episode featuring Plastique.

Flash: Season Zero print edition (collecting chapters 3&4) arrives in stores on Wednesday. “Barry Allen and the CCPD investigate the murder of a man who appears to have been killed by snakes! But what’s the connection to last issue’s freakishly strong bank robber? And who is the mysterious Mr. Bliss?”

Flash: Season Zero chapter 5 is available digitally today. “Held captive by a band of circus freaks, the Flash’s attempt to contact S.T.A.R. Labs is thwarted–and the origin of the dastardly Mr. Bliss is revealed!”

Flash: Season Zero is set in the TV series continuity between episoes 1 and two. The current story is written by Andrew Kreisberg and Katherine Walczak with art by Phil Hester and Eric Gapstur.

This Week: Flash #35, Season Zero chapter 4, and “Things You Can’t Outrun” on TV

Monday — Flash: Season Zero Chapter 4 is available online. “After Barry Allen and the S.T.A.R. Labs crew discover the Strongman’s identity, The Flash heads to the edge of town to confront the deadly Mr. Bliss and his gang of circus freaks!” Written by Brooke Eikmeier, Andrew Kreisberg and Katherine Walczak with art by Phil Hester and Eric Gapstur.

Tuesday — TV episode three, “Things You Can’t Outrun” features the Flash going up against The Mist…and the first hints of Firestorm! Preview clip.

Wednesday — Flash #35 is out, concluding the epic tale of the future Flash as he arrives in the present day. Preview at Uproxx. Written by Robert Venditti and Van Jensen. Art by Brett Booth, Norm Rapmund and Andrew Dalhouse.

Out This Week: The Flash Season Zero #1 (Print Edition)

Flash Season 0 Issue 1With the Flash TV show launching next week, DC is making sure a new Flash comic featuring the TV version of Barry Allen is available to anyone, whether they want to pick it up online or in a comic shop.

The Flash: Season Zero is out today, collecting the first two chapters of the digital-first comic in paper form. The digital edition releases a new episode every other Monday, alternating with Arrow: Season 2.5

An all-new digital first series From the world of the highly anticipated new TV show The Flash! Follow the adventures of Barry Allen as he struggles to balance his job as a police crime scene investigator, his unrequited crush on Iris West (who also happens to be his boss’ daughter) and his new life as Central City’s guardian angel! Don’t miss out!
