Abra Kadabra Cast In The Show, And More

As reported by the official DC blog, actor David Dastmalchian has been cast to play Abra Kadabra on The Flash TV series. He’ll apparently be appearing before the season’s over, which is interesting (I’ve long had a theory that H.R. Wells is Kadabra in disguise, but we’ll see). He’s described as “a criminal from a distant future whose advanced technological powers seem like magic, the time-traveling Abra Kadabra holds a secret the Flash will stop at nothing to uncover”. So it sounds like he may be fairly faithful to the comics.

Dastmalchian has appeared in other DC media before; he’s appeared on Gotham and had a small role in The Dark Knight.

We also know that Mirror Master and the Top will return in a few episodes, as of episode 19. That episode is currently filming right now, and is being directed by long-time cast member Tom Cavanagh.

And the CW has released the first teaser for the upcoming Flash-Supergirl crossover, titled “Duet”. It will air March 21st.

Flash #18 Preview

Flash #18 is due out this week, and Nerdist has a preview of the first five pages. Check it out at the link!

Flash #18
“SINS OF THE FATHER” part one! With his superhero career finally underway, Wally West must learn the truth about his father, Daniel West, the long-lost villain known as Reverse-Flash. To retrace his steps, Kid Flash and The Flash must travel to the most dangerous place in the DC Universe: Belle Reve Prison!”

Readers may remember that Reverse Flash was killed or lost in time after an explosion while working with the Suicide Squad. And that means an appearance by another familiar face, as can be seen on the cover.

“Duet” Synopsis (Flash Musical Episode)

The CW has released the official synopsis for the FlashSupergirl musical crossover, titled “Duet”. The episode will air on March 21st, with apparently a bit of a prologue on Supergirl the night before.

DARREN CRISS (“GLEE”) GUEST STARS AS THE MUSIC MEISTER IN THE FLASH AND SUPERGIRL MUSICAL CROSSOVER – Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can’t cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end.
Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#317). Original airdate 3/21/2017.

Looking forward to the CW’s version of Music Meister, and what will be done with all the singing? Share your thoughts!

“There’s always another way.” That theme keeps coming through in this episode, and it makes “Attack on Central City” much more than just a battle with Grodd…even though the battle WAS fantastic! “Into The Speed Force” Synopsis, And More

The CW has released the official still images from next week’s episode of The Flash, titled “Attack On Central City”. In the image above, you can see Accelerated Man (played by Sean Poague), who is the Flash of Earth-19. It seems like he may be assisting Team Flash against Grodd’s invasion, and one wonders if he’ll be interacting with H.R., who is native to that world. Accelerated Man is from the comics, though he’s only appeared in The Multiversity #2 and The Multiversity Guidebook by Grant Morrison. You can see the rest of the stills of Cisco, Gypsy, H.R. and more, at CBR.

Just for fun, here’s the poster created by the CW for “Attack On Central City”. You’ve got to love the pun and that beautifully-rendered image of Grodd.

And finally, here’s the official synopsis for the March 14th episode, titled “Into the Speed Force”.

The Flash 3×16 “Into the Speed Force”: “BARRY TURNS TO THE SPEED FORCE – Desperate to stop Savitar and save his friends, Barry (Grant Gustin) turns to the speed force for answers. H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) gives Jesse (guest star Violett Beane) some advice. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Brooke Roberts & Judalina Neira (#316).” The Flash season 3 airs Tuesdays at 8PM on the CW. “Into the Speed Force” airs March 14.
