“The Runaway Dinosaur” Review of THE FLASH Ep 2.21

Okay let’s deal with the BIG question….was there a Jason Mewes cameo? Yes, and it was excellent. But, you probably already guessed that would happen with Kevin Smith directing this episode of THE FLASH. This was an episode heavy on emotion and not-so-much action sequences.  But, as a “calm before the storm” of the last two episodes of Season 2, this was an excellent show. Want to know more? Flash Season Finale Official Synopsis

The CW has released the official synopsis for the last episode of the season, titled “The Race Of His Life”. I’ll get to that in a moment (it’s behind the cut for spoiler reasons), but there are a couple of news tidbits first.

IGN reports that Kevin Smith will direct another Flash episode in season 3. His first episode will air next week, and the cast and crew were reportedly energized by his presence on set.

The Hollywood Reporter talks with Flash visual effects supervisor Armen Kevorkian about doing twenty-three effects-heavy episodes per season. He discusses a bit about CGI characters such as Grodd and King Shark, as well as some of the ways they differentiated Flash and Zoom’s speed effects.

There is a LOT happening as we get closer to the season finale of THE FLASH – just 3 episodes left after tonight. Barry has to decide whether to try a dangerous experiment to regain his speed, while Zoom plans a takeover of Earth 1. But, if you think that was ALL that was going on this week…wow, do YOU have a surprise coming!
