After a long wait, Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster, the Flash-focused episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, airs tonight on Cartoon Network at 7:00pm. (Or, depending on your time zone, already aired.)
It’s been online through sketchy channels ever since it played in Australia in May, and legitimately on Amazon Video on Demand since early August. (It was also available on iTunes briefly, but was pulled, possibly to hold it until the US broadcast.)
So, what’s in it? Three Flashes vs. Professor Zoom. Super-speed hijinks. Time travel. References to everything from Crisis on Infinite Earths to the “Dark Tomorrow” arc in Impulse. Cameos by the Rogues. A race around the world. A story about teamwork and no-ally-left-behind….
And great voice casting!

THAT. SOUNDS. AWESOME! Too bad it’s about 3 hours too late on the “heads up.” Have to check it out if they put it back up on itunes or something.
Sorry about the timing – I’d stopped looking for the schedule myself a few weeks ago, and I didn’t see today’s comment until after a day full of meetings.
The episode is on Amazon video on demand right now, if that’s available in your area and you’re willing to try it.
It looks like iTunes has been adding new episodes as they air, so I’d guess it’ll be up within a few days.
Cartoon Network’s website should have it in a week or so, judging by the fact that they’ve got the complete “Siege of Starro Part 1” up right now.

I’d seen this a few weeks ago through the above-mentioned “sketchy channels” and was even more pleased than usual with Batman: the Brave and the Bold. The manner in which they tonally captured the story elements from the last few years and kept the tone light was impressive. The Flash/Prof. Zoom race/fight was perfect. I still cannot believe that was John Wesley Shipp as Prof. Zoom.
Saw this episode ages ago as I downloaded it (won’t say from where). I haven’t watched much of the series before but this was pretty cool. Great seeing Jay, Barry and Wally together and it was awesome that John Wesley Shipp played Reverse-Flash.
I too watched it months and months ago (Cartoon Network really thought we in North America could be THAT patient?) But the quality was extremely poor so I was watching the listings religiously for a few months before giving up from continuous weekly disappointment. The fact that I managed to catch this in time was pure serendipity. Thank you, my love for Top Gear!
Didn’t care for the outsiders, but seeing Kobra immediately brought memories of Terminal Velocity and Bats lines (as always) were well delivered.
Anyway, loved the fight scene, the references to past book issues, and just plain seeing my favorite characters in action. Recognizing Shipp’s voice! The Rogue scenes were a bit over the top…and…god, I adored them that way. Especially Weather Wizard at the end and those hopeful smiles on their faces….Cold’s derogatory names for Jay and Wally. The stunned look on Bats face when the Rogues surround his trapped form and also their commenting on his performance versus Barry’s.
Minuses? Too soon in the timeline for any Bart and no sign of Joan Garrick…not even on this pictures hanging on the Garrick home wall, Professor Zoom had Zoom’s eyes…the same designers who crafted the 4″ action figure? Also the way Barry defeated his nemesis had me scratching my head for a second trying to figure it out. I still can’t shake the feeling that his glove should have been shredded (and yeah, I know…protective aura and all.)
All and all, glad I caught it and just might pick up the DVD when they make one.
It figures they are ending the series now that Barry and Wally could have been used in future stories. Damn.
Wow. That was fantastic. A total surprise too, I got home from running some errands and saw it on the DVR. Now it’ll be sitting on my DVR for quite a long time. I loved the trip. Makes me think of Flash/Zoom fight in one of the Flash/Superman races.

Seeing as how fan websites are on shaky ground to begin with, if you’re going to point people to illegal copies of a video that’s available through legal channels, please don’t do it on my website.
I have to say this just makes me want a proper Flash cartoon. There are so many characters (heroes and villains)in Flash history that they could use for a series, not to mention appearances by other DCU characters (imagine seeing a Flash/GL team-up with Jay, Barry, Alan Scott and Hal Jordan).
Oh dear Lordy, yes. An actual cartoon would beat the spandexed pants off of my only available substitute: taking a Flash comic and flipping through it at super normal human speed. It just isn’t the same. jk

I missed it when it first aired as I was a t work, but got to see it a month ago when it was aired again.
Well worth the wait!! Jay, Barry and Wally all in the one episode!! By far my favourite of the series. 🙂
