Preview up for Flashpoint: Kid Flash Lost #3

DC has released a preview for Kid Flash Lost #3, concluding the story of Bart Allen lost in time.

In order to catch up to his grandfather, Bart Allen will have to race against the speed force itself. As he is bounced around through time collecting multi-dimensional speed force energy from various members of the Flash family, Bart needs to gain all of the necessary tools to reach Barry in time to deliver a message that could save the universe. But will he be able to reach the world’s last hope for restoration before the speed force catches up to him?

In FLASHPOINT: KID FLASH LOST #3, Bart Allen finally realizes the personal sacrifice he must make in order to save his family and the people he loves. By Sterling Gates, Oliver Nome, Scott Kolins and Trevor Scott, the final issue in this miniseries races into stores on Wednesday.

Gates has said that this series, and issue #3 in particular, is his “love letter to the Flash family.” After seeing the pages, I’m…a little concerned about his definition of “love letter.”

There is no Flashpoint: Reverse Flash #2

People are looking for answers about the missing Flashpoint: Reverse Flash #2. The simple answer is: There isn’t one. It was originally solicited as a one-shot, along with Flashpoint: Grodd of War, Flashpoint: Green Arrow Industries and Flashpoint: The Canterbury Cricket, but a misprint on the cover identified it as #1 of 3 instead.

So no, there isn’t a Flashpoint: Reverse Flash #2, or a Flashpoint: Reverse-Flash #3 for that matter. It hasn’t been canceled. It hasn’t been delayed. It wasn’t planned in the first place.

Flash #3 in November, plus Captain Atom & the Life Story…

DC Comics’ November solicitations are up. In addition to The Flash #3 and the usual Justice League spot, the Flash guest-stars in Captain Atom #3, and Mark Waid’s “The Life Story of the Flash” is reprinted.

Flash 101 – Get Up to Speed

Along with the Flash 101 sale mentioned yesterday, DC and ComiXology have released a free Flash 101 digital booklet featuring origins, a rough timeline, and a collection of covers.

The timeline’s the most interesting part, to me.

It’s also got the two-page origins of Gorilla Grodd, the Trickster and the Pied Piper from Countdown to Infinite Crisis, and a similarly-styled two-page origin of Barry Allen by Scott Beatty, Howard Porter and Livesay that I think is new. None of the Flashes got profiled in 52, which was where the hero origins appeared, and the second page features the post-Rebirth costumes for Wally West, Iris West and Jesse Quick, as well as the Countdown-era costume for Jai West.

Digital “Flash 101” Sale This Weekend

DC Comics has announced a “Flash 101” sale on digital comics. All listed Flash titles will be only 99 cents for 48 hours starting August 13. They don’t say where, but I think it’s safe to assume it’s at ComiXology, because they’re DC’s exclusive online vendor at this point.

And they’ve added a lot more issues.

Up to this point, ComiXology has had everything from Flash: Rebirth onward. Over the last few days, readers have spotted early issues from Wally West’s series, the beginning of Impulse, and a few scattered issues from the Bronze Age. DC has released a 4-page preview of next week’s Flashpoint: Citizen Cold #3:

He may have once been seen as Central City’s hero, but as the truth about Citizen Cold’s criminal past begins to trickle out, it’ll only be a matter of time before his true identity is revealed.
