Kid Flash Officially Joins Legends of Tomorrow

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Keiynan Lonsdale is joining Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, beginning with the second half of this season. Kid Flash Wally West will join the team now that he’s left Central City. (via ComicBook.com)

Showrunners on The Flash have talked about the difficulty of writing two speedsters on a show, so with any luck this will give Wally more opportunities to shine.

Legends of Tomorrow returns February 12. It will share the Monday 8pm time slot with Supergirl, so that instead of breaking for reruns in the middle of the season, they’ll each break for the other show.

First Look at CW’s Keiynan Lonsdale as KID FLASH! (Wally West!)

CW Kid Flash 1

CW has released two publicity photos of Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West on the Flash TV show) in full costume as Kid Flash!

No word yet on when he’ll gain his speed, whether it’s part of the Flashpoint storyline or something that will happen as the timeline is repaired. (via Flash TV News)

Update: According to Entertainment Weekly he’ll debut as Kid Flash during the season three premiere, “Flashpoint.”

So what do you think? Love the costume? Think it needs work? Are you looking forward to seeing Wally West in super-speed live action? Sound off!

Wally West Has Been Cast!

Variety reports that Keiynan Lonsdale will play Wally West in season two of The Flash. The Australian actor recently appeared in Insurgent as Uriah.

EP Andrew Kreisberg is quoted: “Just like when we met Grant for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”

No further details have been revealed at this time. We don’t know when he’ll make his first appearance, how he’s related to Iris and Joe West in the TV continuity (in the comics, he’s Iris’ nephew by way of older brother Rudy), or even whether he’ll become Kid Flash (I can totally see Cisco picking that name) this season or later on.

Update: EW says he’ll “join the show as a series regular in the winter,” so we probably won’t see him in the first third of the season, but he’ll be around a lot for the rest of the year.

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to seeing the live-action Wally West!
