Poll: What’s Your Favorite Flash Story of 2011?

Category: Fandom — By Kelson @ 5:00 pm

I thought this was going to be a shorter list, but then I remembered a bunch of guest spots from earlier in the year. (I’ve probably missed a few, and I deliberately didn’t include Justice League since it’s a team book & not a Flash spotlight.)

If you have any problems voting here on Speed Force, or you just want to see the results, you can view the poll at Twtpoll.

Surprised Mob Rule is running away with this so far.

Retroactive 80′s was, imo, literally the best Flash story in the last 4 or 5 years, at least.

I’m curious about the vote for The Road to Flashpoint. I’d like to know what someone liked about it that made it their favorite.

  3. Kyer says:

I’ve noticed with polls that recent memory seems to play the biggest factor. If two really good stories were put out, the last one is the one that will get the most votes regardless of anything else.

I voted for the 80′s retro, but then I haven’t seen anything much more than the previews of the Flash stories. Wouldn’t touch the Flashpoint anythings with a ten-foot-pole doused with antiseptic.

I went with Mob Rule. The ’80s Retroactive was good, but I don’t like that early era of Wally’s book much. I nearly went for Superman #709, but that’s not really a Flash story. It’s a Superman story guest-starring the Flash.

As to The Road to Flashpoint, well, the first issue was very good. Why someone would vote for it, though, I can’t imagine.

80′s Retro got my vote too.

So…I just typed a very well written comment, but didn’t fill my email in, so it was deleted.. But, I’ll try again.

I voted for superboy #5 mainly because I’ve been reading Impulse, Young Justice, and Teen Titans over the past couple of months, and have developed much love for Bart Allen.

For the future, I’m not interested in the new 52 The Flash so much, because, to me, Wally West was the flash I grew up with and loved (Although I do consider early Wally a bit whiney, self-obsorbed and frustrating, but that stems from me knowing what he becomes later on). The JL and JLU cartoon series is what started my interest in The Flash.
In saying that, I will be reading The Flash and Teen Titans, mainly so I can see if there will be any interaction between Bart and Barry. I’m very interested in Bart’s storyline in the new 52 (is he from the future, or is the name a coincidence?). It would be interesting to see what titles people are most anticipating for 2012. For me, like I said, it will pretty much be TT….and maybe Blue Beetle.

    Lets hope this posts >>

This is a bit late but I’m catching up on Flash issues as I’ve stepped away for a few years. My favorite non-2011 Flash that I’ve read recently is Flash TMA #13, 2007 (the death of Bart Allen). There was something very M. Night Shyamalan-ish about the storytelling.

Lots of catching up to do. Off to read Final Crisis, Rebirth, Blackest Night, and Flash Point. I hope it keeps getting better.
