Movement on the Flashpoint Movie – Spider-Man: Homecoming Writers in Negotiations to Direct

Variety reports that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are in negotiations to direct Flashpoint. The stand-alone movie has been without a director since November 2016, when Rick Famuyiwa left the project. (via Comics Beat)

As far as super-heroes go, the pair wrote the story for Spider-Man: Homecoming. But that doesn’t tell us much about their directing style. They have directed a few films together, notably the 2015 comedy Vacation and the upcoming murder mystery Game Night – so it’s anybody’s guess what sort of tone the studio is aiming for at this point. (Presumably if they’re actually adapting the Flashpoint comic book, even loosely, they aren’t going for broad comedy.)

Flashpoint stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and while it’s billed as a Flash solo film, it will also feature the DCEU’s Wonder Woman and Cyborg.

“The Trial of The Flash” – Review of S4 Ep 10 of THE FLASH

“My name is Barry Allen and I’m an innocent man”.

When we left the Flash at the mid-season finale, Clifford DeVoe’s body had been found in Barry and Iris’ apartment, stabbed to death.  The police arrived to find Barry standing over the Thinker’s now lifeless body.  Also…the Thinker’s former body, as DeVoe had traded consciousness with Dominic Lanse, aka Brainstorm.  Barry is arrested…and as we return for the mid-season return we are ready for the trial.  Can Barry get out of this one? Will he reveal his identity? Want to know more? Follow us after the jump!

“Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash”, And More

The CW has released the official synopsis for the January 30th episode of The Flash, titled “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash”. The episode will introduce an unnamed metahuman villain, and somebody close to the team will temporarily gain powers themselves.

“Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash”
THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MEN — A meta who can shrink anything he touches battles Team Flash. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) get caught in his crossfire and are shrunk to miniature versions of themselves. Cecile (guest star Danielle Nicolet) realizes her pregnancy has caused her to have temporary powers and discovers she can hear other people’s thoughts, which unnerves Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Meanwhile, Barry (Grant Gustin) meets someone with a mysterious connection to Henry Allen. Chris Peppe directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Judalina Neira (#412). Original airdate 1/30/2018

Plus, it’s been revealed that we’ll be seeing another non-Flash villain on the show later this season. This one is Hyrax, a Green Arrow foe who’s an environmental activist. There are an unusual number of non-Flash villains on the show this season.

“A Cold Day in Hell” Finale – Review of THE FLASH #38

Our favorite speedster has been drawn into a trap by the Rogues, with help from August Heart aka Godspeed. Stuck in an absolute zero environment, Barry cannot access his speed to defend himself against Len Snart’s brutal attack. Things are looking pretty rough for The Flash in an arc that re-establishes the Rogues as the baddest group of bad guys around.  So, how can Barry get out of this one? To find out more, follow us after the jump!
