Flash Legacy on Brave and the Bold

There’s been talk for a while of a “Flash Legacy” episode of Batman: Brave and the Bold. The main Flash on the show is Jay Garrick, who has appeared in at least two episodes: “Trials of the Demon” and “The Golden Age of Justice.” Kid Flash was notably absent from the recent “Sidekicks” episode, but producer James Tucker told the Aquaman Shrine that they have plans for Kid Flash “in the near future.”

In a comment thread on the show’s Facebook page a few days ago, producers confirmed that “Jay, Barry, and Wally will be featured in a upcoming episode that focuses on the Flash legacy.”

New episodes of the cartoon return in March.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Arrives Tomorrow

DC’s latest direct-to-home-video animated film, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, goes on sale Tuesday, February 23.

In it, the Justice League answers a plea for help from an alternate Lex Luthor, one who comes from a world where good and evil are reversed. The heroic Luthor fights against the tyranny of such master villains as Ultraman, Owlman, Superwoman, and Johnny Quick (a name that DC has reused several times).

It is, of course, inspired by a long tradition of evil-counterpart stories in DC Comics.

Speedster corner: The story is adapted from an unproduced Justice League Unlimited script, so the Flash is the familiar wise-cracking, thinks-with-his-feet type. There’s also supposed to be a good super-speed fight between him and the evil Johny Quick.

Flash: Rebirth #6 Preview!

DC has posted a four-page preview of next week’s Flash: Rebirth #6.

Can you believe we’re only a few days away from the conclusion?

Update: As Esteban points out in the comments, there’s a third credit on this cover: Scott Hanna. @SpeedsterSite quotes Ethan Van Sciver confirming (on Facebook), “Those are inked by the great Scott Hanna, who was kind enough to do 5 or 6 pages for me.”

Custom Blue Lantern Barry Allen Figure on eBay!

As a Flash collector I spend a lot of my time on eBay. Whether it’s looking for good deals on action figures or hunting for some rare gem of a collectible, I spend a lot of time on the site. This afternoon I came across a pretty sweet custom of Blue Lantern Barry Allen up for auction. Interesting to note that the custom is astonishingly pretty accurate to the official action figure of Blue Lantern Flash by DC Direct design wise.

I actually think I dig the custom on eBay a little more though. Especially the way the belt is worked right into the Blue Lantern chest design as opposed to being awkwardly painted over it. The previous design may work in the comic but on an action figure it stands out a lot more than it should. This custom is being brought to us by nissan_nx2004 and Black Lanterns Green Arrow and Hawkman are also included in the auction.

Blackest Night: Flash Ranked #9 for January

Diamond has released their top 100 comics for January, and Blackest Night: The Flash takes the #9 spot. Once again, it beat out the other two Blackest Night tie-in miniseries (Wonder Woman and JSA), though this probably has more to do with the fact that Blackest Night writer Geoff Johns penned it than with the Flash’s popularity. ICv2 has sales estimates for the top 300, showing a typical second-issue drop of about 14% to roughly 69K.

Flash: Rebirth Wraps Next Week!

It’s been a long wait, but Flash: Rebirth #6 is on Diamond’s upcoming releases list — meaning it’s almost guaranteed* to ship next week! The second half of the miniseries has been plagued by delays, which artist Ethan Van Sciver has been willing to own up to…but he only recently talked about the health problems that threw off his work schedule.

So here’s the final (okay, maybe I’m being a bit trusting!) schedule for the miniseries:
