Flash 75th Anniversary Collection on Wednesday

Flash: A Celebration of 75 YearsFlash: A Celebration of 75 Years arrives in stores on Wednesday. The $40, 480-page hardcover* collection features stories of all the major Flashes, from Jay Garrick to Barry Allen to Wally West to Bart Allen and back to Barry again, from the Golden Age through the New 52.

Update: To clear up a little confusion that came up on the Facebook thread, the book ships to comic stores this Wednesday. Bookstores get new releases on Tuesdays, so Amazon and other stores that get it on the bookstore schedule will have it next Tuesday.

*DC’s website says softcover, but Previews World and Amazon both say hardcover, and given the page count, I’m inclined to believe the latter until I see a copy.

This issue is titled, “The End of the Road”…but while the Future Flash story line IS wrapped up here we get some major developments that begin a whole new chapter in the life of Barry Allen. This is an issue you WILL want to read more than once, one of the best issues in the Venditti-Jensen-Booth era of our favorite speedster!

Official Synopsis For “All Star Team Up”

The CW has released the official synopsis for the episode to air on April 14th, titled “All Star Team Up” (there’ll be a one-week break between “Tricksters” and this episode).

ARROW’S FELICITY SMOAK (EMILY BETT RICKARDS) AND RAY PALMER (BRANDON ROUTH) ARRIVE IN CENTRAL CITY; EMILY KINNEY (“The Walking Dead”) GUETS STARS AS BRIE LARVIN — Barry (Grant Gustin) is surprised when Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) arrives from Starling City along with her boyfriend, Ray Palmer (guest star Brandon Routh), who flies in as the Atom. They’ve come to visit S.T.A.R. Labs as Ray needs help with his suit. Their timing turns out to be fortuitous because it’s all hands on deck after a meta human named Brie Larvin (guest star Emily Kinney) unleashes hundreds of robotic bees to attack and kill her former co-workers, including Dr. Tina McGee (guest star Amanda Pays). A group dinner with Barry, Felicity, Ray, Iris (Candice Patton) and Eddie (Rick Cosnett) turns into a disaster. Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & Kai Yu Wu (#118). Seeing a Rule 63 version of the Bug-Eyed Bandit will definitely be something. It’ll be interesting to see how it’s done.

The Law of Unintended Consequences – Review of “Rogue Time”, Episode 116 of THE FLASH

In an episode that has echoes of “Groundhog Day”, Barry Allen finds out the hard way that messing with the past can have serious results. If you didn’t see last week’s episode, you may want to catch that one first, as this episode makes SO much more sense that way. It would be very hard to match the intensity level of last week’s show…and unfortunately there are parts of last week’s episode that no longer apply (spoilers ahead)…but still this is an important chapter of the story, and if nothing else a little…Golden…intervention makes this another very interesting episode of our favorite super-hero show.
