I’ve been able to get to HeroesCon for Day One…and will return for Day Three on Sunday. Here are some of the Flash fans…and some bonus pics as well. There is one pic of Marcio Takara, who filled in for a couple of issue of The Flash. Later, I got him to sign a variant cover of one of his Flash issues. And yes, that is yours truly posing with the great Neal Adams!
I enjoyed taking pics not only of the cosplayers…but anyone wearing a Flash t-shirt. btw…the Barry Allen cosplayer was amazing! Here are the pics:
This issue of The Flash picks up on a powerless Barry Allen (as noted in last issue and in the most recent Dial H) attempting to stop a radical group from breaking the Trickster out of prison. What can Barry do without his connection to the Speed Force? Turns out, quite a lot!
SOME SPOILERS AHEAD! PLEASE READ THE ISSUE BEFORE MOVING FORWARD!
Now that Gorilla Grodd is lost in the Speed Force and the Gem Cities have time to heal, Barry begins issue #18 helping the Gem Cities rebuild from the devasation of recent battles. He is everywhere, and apparently one of the best wall-hangers and carpenters around (or at least a lot of Speed Force makes up for a lack of other training). It is just as well that he has so much to do, as Barry has yet to reclaim his old job – the bureaucracy of both the Police Force and the union haven’t been able to render a decision on his old job now that he is no longer “dead”.
WARNING: SOME SPOILERS AHEAD! DON’T LOOK FURTHER UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE ISSUE!
Today sees the release of DC’s Justice League solicitations for February. The cover for Flash #17 was revealed late last week as part of an interview with Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato over at Comic Book Resources, which also announced that the debut of the new Reverse-Flash would also be a part of issue #17.

In the CBR interview, it is also mentioned that Manapul will be taking a two-issue break from Flash following “Gorilla Warfare.” Buccellato will handle writing duties on his own for #s 18 and 19, and he mentioned Marcio Takara as a possible artist on Twitter. [UPDATE: Manapul confirmed this on Twitter on Saturday]. Follow the jump for a sketch of Flash by Takara!
